I have used this stuff for years - the negative reviews are from folks who don't understand what this stuff is and how to use it. There's "large gap/expanding" foam that's good for large openings where you're not concerned about bending/warping trim (or framing); "window/door" foam (less expansion) which is used for sealing around window/door framing (adhesive, waterproof and minimally expanding - won't bow out the sills or door frame - which is crucial); and this stuff, which I have used for years for INTERIOR sealing - small gaps, around ductwork, plumbing, electrical boxes, etc. It hardly expands at all, cleans up with water (is reusable), you can tool it with your fingers, and as long as it's not disturbed (like under trim, or the a/c register) holds up well. WAY better than white caulk for air sealing and VERY useful as along as you know what it is and use it correctly.

This foam filler is great. It's minimally expanding so you don't get extra all over the place from high expansion. This makes it easy to use so long as you go easy on the trigger as to not dispense too much as you can always add a little more later if you need to. You also don't waste the rest of the can if you only need to use a little bit as you can clean the straw and tip with water right after you use it so you can use it later, unlike the popular foam brand where you waste what you don't use.

This foam spray is way better than the yellow stuff. It expands a little bit but not too much. It is water soluble and easy to clean up. It is reusable if you just blow out the tube and wash it with water after each use. And it clings fairly well to surfaces when applying, especially if you pre-coat the area by applying a very thin layer of the stuff with your finger, etc. just enough to make it sticky.

This stuff is the best it doesn’t expand as much as others but that’s ok. It is the easiest to clean spray foam I have ever used. All that said it is pure white and not yellow which in a lot of cases works out perfectly. Also you can clean out the nozzle and tube and reuse so it’s not wasted . This is really great foam for small gaps!

I recently had the opportunity to use the Dap 18836 DAPtex Plus Ltx Foam Sealant, and I must say, it has exceeded my expectations in every way. Here’s a detailed review of my experience with this product:Ease of Application: The foam sealant was incredibly easy to apply. The consistency was perfect, allowing for smooth and even application without any mess. It adhered well to various surfaces, including wood, concrete, and metal, making it versatile for different projects around the house.Quick Drying Time: One of the standout features of this sealant is its quick drying time. Within just a few minutes, it began to set, which significantly sped up my project timeline. This is a huge plus for anyone looking to complete their tasks efficiently.Durability and Flexibility: After drying, the foam formed a durable and flexible seal that has held up remarkably well. It has withstood various weather conditions without cracking or peeling, which speaks volumes about its quality. The flexibility ensures that it can accommodate any movement or expansion in the materials it is applied to.Aesthetic Finish: The white color of the foam blends seamlessly with most surfaces, providing a clean and professional finish. It doesn't shine through or discolor the paint, which is crucial for achieving a flawless look. The end result was a smooth, neat, and aesthetically pleasing seal that enhanced the overall appearance of my project.Low Odor and Easy Cleanup: Another great feature is the low odor, which made the application process much more pleasant. Cleanup was a breeze with just water, making it convenient and hassle-free.Versatility: Whether it's sealing windows, doors, baseboards, or vents, this foam sealant has proven to be incredibly versatile. It has become my go-to product for various sealing needs around the house.Fragility: While the foam sealant is functional and aesthetically pleasing, it is somewhat fragile. If you are a careful person, this shouldn't be an issue. However, in a busy environment with a lot of activity, I doubt it will last long. The lightweight construction means it can be easily knocked over or damaged if not handled with care.In conclusion, the Dap 18836 DAPtex Plus Ltx Foam Sealant has impressed me with its exceptional quality, ease of use, and reliable performance. It has made my DIY projects smoother and more efficient, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This product truly stands out in terms of durability, flexibility, and overall effectiveness.

The straw applicator is missing. There was clearly a place for it on the bottle. The sprayer was wrapped and then the bottle was wrapped so it was shipped that way. DO NOT BUY because it is not returnable and cannot be used without the applicator.

I needed to fill the space around where a bathroom exhaust fan duct went through the foundation to the outside. This extended deep, perhaps 8-10 inches. I was concerned with fumes as my wife is an asthmatic and since she's fine with latex paint, I figured this would be safer than polyurethane expanding foam. However, it was not the appropriate product for what I needed. I followed the directions, and only sprayed partial depths at one session, but even that never hardened. After a week, it was still puffy, soft, and crumbly, The DAPtex is clearly for shallow applications. OTOH, it was very easy to clean up, and that is always a plus.Just for those wondering, I cleaned out the foam as best as I could and instead used expanding PU foam. There was no odor, it expanded and filled the space, and it set and hardened. Only negatives are first, that you must not get it on skin or clothes, so I felt it necessary to wear my Tyvek suit, rubber gloves, and face shield as a precaution. It is messy, but the key is to leave it alone until it hardens. And second, that it is pretty much a one-time use, so buy the cheapest stuff you can find--it's all the same.Certainly I'll keep the DAPtex around for narrower and shallower spaces that need filling.

Pros: the color is white, which is great when blending into stuff. I'm in an apartment and needed an easy way to fill holes/ gaps around the place to help stop the bugs we were getting. Easy to re-use.cons: price- I bought one can, but I don't think I'll buy another one because of the price. I bought a 7$ polyurethane foam after I ran out of this one. Nice, but too pricey for me!
