Used this and Pi 4 to build my daughter a karaoke machine that works wonderfully. No complaints.

I bought this device so I could record vinyl records on a small, simple device. My review will be focused mostly on the use of the device on a Raspberry Pi and as a recording device.First I tried to use it with Ubuntu Mate. No dice. Would not recognize the HiFiberry DAC+ADC at all. This is likely a lack of support on the part of Ubuntu.Then I tried to use it with the latest Raspberry Pi image. The DAC+ADC was recognized but would not work with several programs, including raspotify (spotify connect) and Shairport Sync (for airplay). I spent a considerable amount of time getting the system to recognize the card. I still cannot get Rhythmbox to play music through the HifiBerry DAC+ADC. VLC works and so does Audacity. This also could just be an issue with linux, the raspberry pi platform and/or the Raspberry Pi OS in general and the card may not be in any way responsible. I bring up these issues so you know what you are getting into. Hopefully with time there will be better support on the OS/software end for this card. They key thing here: if you are buying this device to record vinyl using Audacity, it definitely works and does a great job.For the stated goal of recording vinyl records, I used Audacity. Once the DAC+ADC was set as default, Audacity had no issues getting up and running. I was able to make a nice recording of a record. Just for comparison, I brought in some vinyl (David Bowie's Aladdin Sane) with a Scarlet 2i2 interface and then with the HifiBerry DAC+ADC.I was happy and surprised to hear that the HifiBerry achieved almost the same results. I know different recordings are going to sound better or worse on different equipment and different configurations but in this case, the HifiBerry may have had the edge in bass and fullness.PS I'm looking forward to the Pi4/HifiBerry DAC+ADC case to be back in stock at the HifiBerry website (or maybe even Amazon!).
