I gifted this to my Mother. It was fine, but really loud for a month. The seam wand gasket was defective and I called Cuisinart for a replacement. The woman was so kind, but stated I needed to send the entire unit , at my cost to be repaired. That seemed pretty ridiculous so I found a few on ebay and solved that issue. This unit takes about 3 minutes to prepare a double shot, then about 45-60 seconds to reach steam/ froth mode. It's a pretty good flavor. A month later I noticed a leak from the top left underside corner of the unit. Apparently this isa common issue.. Again I called Cuisinart and blah same story with the extra incentive of a cost of $55.00 to ship to Cuisinart repair. I used this oabout 4 times weekly for Mom. It didn't get heavy usage. It quit working completely after approximately 390 shots. Before it refused to operate,, I was resetting it,thinking It may reset and work.. My son happened by and noticed a burning smell and quickly used rubber tongs to unplug it.. It seemed to be internally burning because the back cover was blistered and bubbled.Again, and only because Mom really enjoyed the coffee I called Cuisinart. Ultimately I took it to an extremely reliable espresso unit repair shop. The owner told me it was the pump. Go to You Tube and check that out. It's now waiting for trash day. This unit is extremely unreliable and not worth the aggravation, let alone $239.00. I currently own 4 coffee machines and this is hands down the worst model I own. Save your money

We were given this machine as a gift and have loved it! It is about 5 years old and has been used daily for most of that time without an issue. We just started having an issue with the water not going into the catch tray, but spilling onto the counter. We believe one of the seals or "O" rings has gone out, which is expected on a well used machine that uses heat and pressure to work. It appears that it should be an easy home fix, but other than that, it is a solid machine.

This item seems to be listed twice on Amazon. I have had this machine for 5 years and use it everyday. I have never had a problem. Well worth the price.

My husband bought me a Cuisinart EM-100 for an early Christmas present 2019. It always worked well for the espresso, but the frothing part gave out within a month. It was still heating the milk, but wouldn't make a froth anymore. I tried less milk, more milk, longer times, shorter times, but it still only heated the milk. I sent it back to Cuisinart for repair or replacement. After a couple of months, I was finally told that I would be receiving a replacement machine. The replacement came, I set it up and the machine worked fine for about 2 - 3 weeks and then the froth maker starting just heating the milk again. I will not be sending this one back, just dumping it. I really expected more of the Cuisinart brand.

Love this machine! Had one for seven years and after it had enough we just bought a new one. We have espresso almost every night and I love steaming milk to make lattes! Highly reccomended, we love our espresso & I always say it’s better than most espresso you get in restaurants .
