I've been using this knife for several months. During that time it has been in and out of the dishwasher many times without any damage. When I received the knife I was surprised by its quality. It gets daily use, yet holds its edge and has shown now wear at all.

I have a complete set of knives, both German and French high quality steel. But they don't hold an edge as long as this Cuisinart does. It's very sturdy and stays sharp. The blade is hollow ground rather than wedge shaped. I think this helps it stay sharp. This knife is much better than all my others. Even if I grind my other knives to a hollow edge they don't last as long. I think this one just has better steel, and it's a steal at the price!

First used this knife in a friend's kitchen. Used it numerous times there and finally bought my own. It's my go-to knife over my Cutco knives. It has great heft, weight, comfortable grip, and stays sharp. Really like it a lot. No downsides to it.

If I never owned another Cuisinart knife, I would have doubted and may not have bought this Santoku. I own some high end, high price knives and a Cuisinart Chef knife. The quality of this knife is surprisingly good. Same as the Chef knife, this Santoku is very sharp. This knife doesn't feel cheap in any way, except the package which saves me money. The handle is easy to grab and hold. It is light weight but not too light to the point it is cheaply made. Do regular maintenance like honing and wet stoning this knife will remain sharp. A good kitchen tool comes with great value.

After picking up their bread knife I decided to try their Santoku knife. For the money both seem to an excellent purchase. I own several mid range forged Henckels and while I don't expect these to last as long, they both fit well and are an inexpensive addition to the kit. One thing to note. It appears that the discounted items are scratch and dent. Mine arrived with damaged packaging and a zip tie holding it together. It didn't appear to be fully opened but I'm guessing they are just selling those that can't be passed brand new, your experience may vary. This was mine.

This knife is super sharp out of the box. And it’s been months since I’ve bought it, and it hasn’t dulled a bit, even after frequent daily use.I was originally shopping for. Japanese-made santoku, but after seeing this, I realized it was the mama-version of a baby Cuisinart knife I had in my collection! Now mama and baby get used all day every day, together. ^_^ just love them. The santoku will have to wait. Honestly, I really love the durability of the handle of this Cuisinart knife. I bought the baby one more than 15 years ago, and it still looks and feels new. Don’t have to worry about rotting handles, loosening rivets, nor loosening ferrules.Highly recommend!PS If you’re used to Japanese chef knife and switch to this, please be aware that the Cuisinart has a slight downward pointing angle, versus the slight, elegant rocking upsweep a santoku has. You will get used to it though. The Cuisinart knife is nicely assertive in that way, and easy to control.
