3M Vacuum Random Orbital Sanders are built with a self-generated vacuum for optimal dust extraction in environments where dust management is important. It delivers professional performance and a swirl-free finish in high-production industrial environments. 3M clean sand system eliminates dust from the workpiece and surrounding space, which improves sanding performance. The sander uses the inlet air to create its own venturi vacuum that extracts dust and expels it through a wide collection port into the included HEPA-rated clean sanding filter bag. An air filter inside the bag locks dust away and effectively retains it for disposal. 3M pneumatic vacuum orbital sanders are designed to optimize the performance of 3M abrasives, with speed control and a low-profile, balanced design. 3/16” diameter orbit provides a moderate cut-rate and a fine finish on metal, composites, wood and more. This palm sander is loaded with features to reduce vibration and noise and increase ergonomics and operator comfort. A Hookit disc pad is included with this 6 inch random orbital sander, allowing the operator to quickly and easily apply and re-apply hook and loop discs to the sanding tool. Operates at 90 psi with an air flow rate of 17 SCFM.

3M SGV sanders are an integral part of the 3M Clean Sanding System made up of the SGV tool, Clean Sanding disc pad, and Clean Sanding disc, sold separately. Together these components are engineered to effectively eliminate dust from the workpiece and surrounding space. The SGV sander uses the inlet air to create its own venturi vacuum that extracts the dust from the work surface and expels it through a wide collection port on the back of the tool into a filter bag. The 3M Clean Sanding Filter Bag included with the tool achieves superior HEPA-rated dust collection with an air filter inside the bag that locks dust away and effectively retains it for disposal.

3M SGV sanders perform best when paired with 3M disc pads and abrasives. Designed specifically to optimize the performance of these tools, the disc pads maximizes dust extraction and minimizes vibration for smooth operation. The 3M proprietary hole pattern reduces swarf in the middle of the pad and increases disc performance and life. Offering convenience and versatility, the 3M Hookit system enables easy disc changeouts and allows operators to use Scotch-Brite Surface Conditioning Discs in addition to coated abrasive Hookit discs (both sold separately).

It has been 25-30 years since I purchased my old pneumatic 6" random orbital sander, an inexpensive unit that I believe I purchased from Harbor Freight. I finally got tired of all of the dust and bought the 3M sander. What a difference! The dust is a lot less and the speed of sanding must be 20 x that of the old sander. Not sure how much of the increase in sanding speed is due to the sander vs the Cubitron 732 U 120 grit discs. They certainly work well together.

This a great sander all around!!. I have used less priced sanders for around 40 years ,but did not to pay this amount for a sander,however the price is worth it. sands wood twice as fast with twice the quality in half the time.For real!!!.Would recomment this sander 5 STARS.Sander is really lite and notable less tiring to use than other units I have used.Thank,s to Amazon ,good price and fast delivery.

This is the best sander I've used, including Festool. I own a custom furniture business and usually reserve RO sanders for large or rough surfaces, hand sanding the rest. With a lot of large surface work I bought this hoping it would compare or surpass Festool's line of sanders. This sander not only is faster but leaves a better surface with MUCH less vibration.I have not used Mirka, or Dynabrade sanders so I cannot compare it to thoseMy notes:-I also switched to Arbnet sand paper at the same time which could compound the improvement (I use the thin backing protectors since the paper is so thin)-Very lightweight and stable allowing edge sanding pretty easily-MUCH less fatigue and vibration-I have a large 5hp, horizontal 2 stage compressor probably 80+gal and this sander causes it to run more then I expected. This is probably the smallest compressor I would recommend to run this sander.-I was concerned about the high RPM on wood, but both the paper and wood stay cooler then any other sander I've used-The dust filter bag is great for the first 10 minutes, then its efficiency degrades. We hook ours up to a shop vac and have no dust.-This sander is likely 50% faster with similar/better surface finish

This has quickly become my go-to sander. You need a very large compressor to run it any amount of time. I have a lot of sanders with two old boats. I like it better than my $600 Festool sander, which says a lot. I really like the vacuum bag system which has never worked in other tools I have bought from other companies in the past.

Exelent sander you can save a 30% of your time when you are sanding wood i sugested 3m sand disks .
