Paws instructions are not correct. Quality of yarn could be much better.

I recently picked up the Turtle Crochet Kit for Beginners, and it’s been such a delightful and rewarding experience! As someone who’s new to crocheting, I was a little nervous about starting, but this kit makes the process so approachable and fun. The set includes everything you need to create four adorable turtle-themed crochet designs, each representing a different ball game: basketball, baseball, tennis, and American football. The step-by-step video tutorials are what truly make this kit shine. They’re clear, easy to follow, and perfect for beginners like me who might need a little extra guidance. Each step is explained in detail, so I never felt lost or overwhelmed. Plus, the videos are paced well, allowing me to crochet along without feeling rushed. The materials included in the kit are of great quality. The yarn is soft yet durable, and the crochet hook feels comfortable to hold, even during longer sessions. I also appreciated the inclusion of stuffing and accessories to complete the turtles. The finished products turned out much cuter than I expected and have been a hit with family and friends. One unique feature of this kit is that the turtles double as ball game-themed toys, adding an extra layer of fun. They’re not just decorative—they’re interactive and make for a great conversation piece. The basketball and baseball turtles are my personal favorites!

Kitten Kit Quick Summary:The instructional videos are clear and helpful, though they don’t explain pattern abbreviations in detail. While the kit includes most necessary tools (not scissors), the yarn quality is questionable due to knots, but not unusable. I recommend starting with the Siamese kitten for adults and remind beginners that their creations will be unique, so they should enjoy the process.Kitten Kit: My Experience - Full ReviewFor this beginner crochet kit, you have the option to choose between colorful chocolates or kittens. I decided to crochet one of the six kittens included in the kitten box.Although I am still a beginner, I have over a year of experience with crocheting. While working on this kit, I learned two new stitches: the picot and the bobble. The Kitten Kit could be a good choice for beginners, especially if you are comfortable learning from video instruction. I was impressed with the tutorials, which are provided in English and include captions to help you follow along. The instructional videos progress slowly through each stitch, and at times, the video cuts to another instructor who reviews the fundamental stitches. While I found this a bit jarring and unnecessary, a new beginner might find the extra explanation helpful. However, the instructor does not guide you on where to find the pattern abbreviations or help beginners understand their meanings. The booklet is your only resource for that information. It’s worth reviewing, as it will help you learn how to read a pattern, which is indicated in the upper left-hand corner of the video as you work through the lines. When I made the kitten, I was initially concerned that beginners might struggle with color changes. However, I think these videos do an excellent job of explaining each line of the pattern at a manageable pace, making color changes quite achievable. The kit includes all the tools you need, except for scissors. My only complaint is the quality of the yarn. The yarn I used had knots in it, and the instructor doesn’t show how to hide knots, which poses a risk when using this kit. While the yarn quality isn’t the highest—and sometimes it can unravel—it should still be sufficient for this project. If I were to recommend a starting project, I would suggest the Siamese kitten (the brown and off-white colored kitten). I don’t recommend this kit for children, but it is definitely a great starting option for any adult looking to learn how to crochet, especially because of the excellent instructional videos. Finally, remember that if you're a beginner, your amigurumi will look unique, just like mine (see photo). Keep in mind that your amigurumi will never look exactly like the professional's completed project, so don’t be too hard on yourself if it looks different from the instructor's or the image on the package. Most importantly, have fun!

I have a siamese cat now! It’s so cute! I gave it blue eyes because I read somewhere that they have blue eyes. I think it’s cute. It was a really fast project and I really enjoyed it and the final product. I’m going to find some keychain rings and hang it off my backpack :)Stitches/Difficulty:2ch-picots*****5dc-bobbles *****Chain StitchCrochet in the RoundHalf Double Crochet Stitch**Magic CircleSingle CrochetSingle Crochet DecreaseSingle Crochet IncreaseSlip StitchMost Rounds in a Part: 19Most Stitches in a Row: 30The more asterisks there are after a stitch, the rarer it is to find in a crochet kit. So this has a very few pretty tricky stitches. They are explained in text only in the pattern booklet as opposed to text and photos in the “DIY Handicrafts” booklet. I remember they were on the harder side when I first learned to crochet. It’s not a very long project through and you only have to do each harder stitch twice. I suppose someone could finish it for a first time project, but there’s easier projects to start with. I’m sure it’d be much easier as a second project, though. I speak as someone who has completed one hundred and twelve crochet kits and has been crocheting for about a year and a half.Instructions:The instructions were very clear. They used the same format and crochet abbreviations (US ones) that most of the crochet kits on Amazon use. I didn’t need to watch the video at all. There is a printed URL in the pattern booklet that you can type in to get to the instructional videos. The is also a booklet that shows you how to do the stitches and explains crochet concepts. It is illustrated with photos.>>Tip: Yarn splitting? Angle your hook more to the right before you yarn over. It can also mean that the hook size is not a good match for you and the yarn. Try a hook size smaller or larger.Materials:The yarn is very soft. I liked working with it because I could go really fast with it. I didn’t have any issues with splitting. The 2.5mm hook is a slower beginner’s one so I used my own so I could crochet faster. There was plenty of stuffing. The tapestry needle is a metal one (yay!) and it went through my stitches and the stuffing really easily. The yarn didn’t fall out of the eye, too. The stitch markers stay closed when they need to and stay closed when I want them to. The safety doll eyes come with the backs so you don’t need to worry about messy glue : )What I Did Different:I used my own blue safety doll eyes.
