I'm a graduate degree'd engineer with a great appreciation for well made tools and also the owner of a handyman business who uses his tools daily to earn a living. With that as background .... At the time this review was written these Crescent diagonal cutters cost $13.59. Every tool is made to a target price and at that price point it's not reasonable to expect a world class tool. This is very close to the least expensive diagonal cutters that can reasonably serve their intended purpose and compared to other tools in this price range that I've used or handled these stand out for being entirely decent and having no glaring faults. The pivot on mine is a bit overly tight, but that's not uncommon with new pliers of any type and usually loosens up with use. As a personal thing I'm not a huge fan of the "tool dip" handles, which don't provide much cush and can be slick in a sweaty hand. The cutters came sharp and cut residential wiring just fine, but I haven't used them enough to speak to the durability of the metallurgy used in those cutters -- which is what has killed every pair of cheap-ish diagonal cutters I've owned to date.In summary, not a pro quality tool, but seem to be quite good for the price. Most likely all the diagonal cutter any DIY'er would ever need.

These are actually pretty good - I would give them a solid mid-tier overall. Basically, they aren't as nice some of the more expensive cutters, but they are far better than a lot of the junky ones out there. For the price, I think these are a solid choice, especially because they are so compact. They do perform well - zero issues cutting copper wire and thin steel wire. The pivot feels great - basically zero slop, and the jaws line up essentially perfectly.Overall worth it.

These are new so of course they're extremely sharp. I've been using these new Crescent pliers recently and exclusively on a few jobs and they have exceeded my expectations. I'm comparing them to the "K" brand electrician tools my company owns and these Crescents have done very well. I have used cheaper quality/brand pliers before and it makes me insane when the dipped-rubber handles slip off. Crescent seems to have it right here as the rubber coating on the handles is high-quality and do not slip off of the handles nor out of your hand.

I have some larger ones, but these are nice to stick in your pocket when you're going around cutting a bunch of zip ties. Much better build quality than the Harbor Freight ones, and reasonably priced.

These Crescent diagonal cutting pliers have become a go-to tool in my kit. At 6 inches long, they're just the right size for most cutting jobs around the house. The cushion grip handles are comfortable to use, even during longer projects. The cutting edges are sharp and handle wire up to 12 AWG with ease. I've used them for electrical work and general DIY tasks, and they've held up well. The polished head is a nice touch - it resists rust and makes cleaning easy after messy jobs. One small drawback: while they work great for softer materials, they can struggle a bit with harder wires. Also, the spring could be a tad stronger for quicker repetitive cuts. But for general household use, these pliers are solid performers. They're well-made and feel like they'll last for years with proper care.

These Crescent diagonal cutters are like the trusty sidekick in my toolbox. They're always there when I need them, ready to tackle any cutting job with precision and ease. Crescent's a brand I've known and loved for years, and these pliers definitely live up to the name.Just the other day, I was working on my kids' bicycle, trying to fix a messed up brake cable. These 6-inch cutters were perfect for snipping the old cable and getting the new one in place. They sliced through that tough steel cable like it was nothing!I also used them the other day to cut up some chicken wire from our garden. We had to cut through a bunch of wire mesh, and these cutters made quick work of it. The cushioned grips kept my hands comfy, even after all that repetitive cutting.Honestly, these pliers are just so darn versatile. They're perfect for any kind of cutting job, big or small. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a weekend warrior, these cutters are a must-have in your toolbox. They're tough, reliable, and comfortable to use. Can't recommend them enough!
