Great quality for the price. The grip fits your hand perfectly. Nice balanced weight. Very well thought out design. Very sharp.

Absolute must have. I have two pairs around me at all times. Clean cuts with less force. I’d imagine these would be great for arthritis.

I use these daily and my last pair lasted me over 8 years! They last a long time and also cut very very good for the price! These cutters are a bargain for how good it is!

These cut great, have good ergonomics, and generally seem very well designed for the task of cutting wire. However I am always accidentally locking them when I am working. The latch just flops around instead of staying where I set it. It really slows me down when doing bigger electrical projects and sometimes I even resort to using my cheap Harbor Freight cutters that have no lock. The Crescent cutters also tend to unlock in my tool pouch when I want them locked. Maybe I can tighten the rivet or something, but this seems like an unfortunate quality issue on an otherwise great design.

The Crescent 8" Pro Series Diagonal Compound Action Dual Material Cutting Pliers are powerful and sharp diagonal cutting pliers that are indispensable in the shop and on the work bench. The compound action gives a mechanical advantage to the cutting force of the jaws. If these cutters hold up to their intended use and remain sharp, they will remain on my work bench for a long time.

I bought these to use for cutting the stems of silk flowers and artificial greenery. The wires inside the stems can get quite heavy and very difficult to cut without a larger bolt cutter. So far these have worked well on the thicker stems I’ve handled lately. I have mild to moderate arthritis and find that these don’t require an impossible amount of hand strength. I’ve encountered some extra heavy stems in the past for which I would definitely have to turn to bolt cutters nowadays, but I’m happy with these for the gauges I’m currently with. I’ve had them for about 5 months and don’t use them frequently, but they’ve stood up well to date and stayed sharp.

I bought the following four wire cutters and compared them:KNIPEX - 74 01 250 SBA Tools - High Leverage Diagonal Cutters (7401250SBA),Crescent 8" Pro Series Diagonal Compound Action Dual Material Cutting Pliers - PS5429C,Klein Tools D2000-49 Pliers, Diagonal Cutting Pliers with Heavy-Duty Cutting Knives, Short Jaws and Dual Material Grips, 9-Inch , Yellow, andOEMTOOLS 22609 8" Mini Bolt Cutters | Cuts 5mm Medium Hard Wire, 4 mm Hard Wire, & 3.6 mm Piano Wire, Plus Bolts, Nails, & Rivets | Highly Portable Mini Bolt Cutters | Chrome Moly Steel, Green.I was surprised to find that they all cut 1/16 inch piano wire with ease and no apparent damage to the cutter edges. I put the Crescent’s on my tool belt because they weigh the least; they have sheet metal handles instead of forged handles. All are comfortable to use. The Crescent and OEMTOOLs have springs that open the cutter and catches for storing the tools with the cutter closed. The Klein was a little stiff but after opening and closing many times, they became easier to use with one hand. My favorite, ignoring weight, is the Knipex because it has the longest handles but really, they all work well.

These are good strong gripping and cutting pliers. Way better than non double fulcrum types which are a waste of time.
