Too often on Violas you see the use of 4/4 Violin Bridges…since Violas are considerably larger than violins (Mine is a Frederick Strobel MA-85 15.5 inch) the Bridge needs to be larger. This does present a problem for using some types of mutes. I bought 2 as I like to be prepared for the unexpected and have replacement on hand…same for strings & rosin.

I had to trim it down and the "A" string area is too soft, string cuts into the bridge
