Crayon Rocks

We first made Crayon Rocks in a garage in La Crescenta, California, mixing the colors in small batches and forming them in hand-made molds. And then a couple of engineering nerds (Edwin and Andrew) from Stanford University School of Engineering in San Francisco built us a machine we named Daisy. She spits out 14,000 crayons a day with only a little supervision from her dedicated handler. And in 2010 we moved from the hustle and bustle of California to the quiet rural peace of Kentucky Amish farm country. We work in a beautiful 4,000 square foot shop that my exceedingly wonderful Plain People neighbors built for me at the bottom of my hill in Hestand.

My child really likes these crayons and has an easy time using them. A really good design for preschoolers that is easy to grip and don't break easily. Good variety of colors too.

Love these crayons! I’m an OT and recommend these crayons for kids who fist a crayon. It forces the use of fingers and develops muscles needed for a good pencil grip! Typically I recommend using an inclined surface or easel as well- that makes it very awkward to write with a fisted hand and improves the visual presentation. These are also good for rubbing over leaves or a texture for kids not interested in coloring,

I am a newly retired preschool teacher. I purchased these rock crayons to help my young grandson to develop a proper grip for handwriting. I have used the Handwriting without tears program which uses small flip crayons. Flip crayons can only be purchased as a class set. I decided to try these rock crayons. They are better than the Flip crayons. The flat side of the rock crayone encourages proper finger alignment and because they are short children have no choice but to hold the crayon the correct way. They cannot fist the rock. There are a multitude of vibrant colors. The rocks will not break no matter how much pressure is applied. The cloth bag makes clean up quick and easy. I like their unique shape. Unlike flip or regular crayons these rocks do not roll off a flat surface. I wish I had had these when I was teaching. I highly recommend these rocks for young children just starting to use crayons. Ifyour child is still putting things in their mouth they might cause a choking hazard so I would suggest using the rocks under supervision.

These were recommended to me by my child’s preschool teacher. They are easy for little hands to grip and color for hours. The carrying bag makes cleanup and storage easy. Best of all there is no more frustration when traditional crayons break.

I purchased these crayon rocks to have at my home for when my granddaughters come to visit. There are a wide variety of colors. Come in a practical, lightweight drawstring canvas pouch. These crayons encourage the pincer/tripod grasp, important for young children in developing the necessary skills for writing and other fine motor tasks. They both enjoy coloring with them (nearly 3 and 5 years old). Would recommend to others. :)

Highly recommend for toddlers. Easy for them to use and grip. Our 2 year old opts to use these over regular crayons. Great color selection and value!

Good size for my LOs hand size. Colors are vibrant on paper. There are a lot of different shades of brown, I'm assuming that's to cover different tones of skin. But overall happy with the product. A little pricey maybe but I mean it's good and for a child at an age where they like to test how everything tastes I'm happy to know that she's not going to accidentally ingest random chemicals

Exakt wie auf dem Bild.Ich habe mir die Farben auf dem Bild nicht genau angeguckt & hatte gehofft dass eher mehr knallige Farben dabei sind, mehr Pink, Lila etc. anstatt so viele braun / camel (je 4) Farben, aber es sind eigentlich genau die Farben die abgebildet sind.

These are really expensive but I think worth it. They are lovely to hold and the colours are great. The kids love them. I'm now inspired to try to make my own!
