The cork mat had a noticeable crack or rip on the center. Which is kind of surprising considering the item came packaged in an oversized box with plenty of room for it to make it fine through the shipping process. It was most likely damaged and carelessly overlooked before being packaged.

Replaced my original rubber mat with this .. not much difference to reduce static and found when passed my hand on top , would feel granules of cork coming off ..not impressed ...2 stars as was cheap ...Back to my original rubber mat with a little spritz of anti-static spray , does the job ...

Poor quality slipmat, left debris all over the records I tried it with.Sticks to the records when you're trying to remove them from the turntable.

There are fancier cork mats out there, but not for The label indent is a must have.I've steered more towards rubber and even acrylic mats, but cork gives a nice organic feel (without the slip of felt, which is great for some things!). Worth having around if you want to experiment. You kind of have to play around with platter mats sometimes to get the right height, sound, or texture, and a cork mat like this is great if you need to gain some height under another mat, or it can be used quite nicely by itself. Cork doesn't gather dust like felt, and it's not as "grabby" as rubber, with a softer feel than acrylic. This seems like a decent cork mat, without any fancy printing on it that doubles the price (yeah, I have some of those too...). It does the job and seems to be of pretty usable quality for the price. I have fancy, custom-chosen custom-cut cork mats for some of my tables, but a mat like this is great to try on a new turntable or loan to a friend to see how they like it. For someone who has already decked out their turntables, it's a great spare to keep on hand, or for someone new to vinyl, it's a great way to try out cork and see what you think, and if it works out great, there's no reason to ever take it off!
