I don't know if it's just my record player but sometimes this makes my record slow down. Seeing the other reviews it doesn't seem like it's a problem for anyone else so it's probably just mine but it's a bummer as I do think it helps with static noise.

Moving from a cork mat to this acrylic platter top made a noticeable difference. I decided to upgrade to acrylic due to its stable properties and reduction of vibration. This came well packaged and ready to use. I appreciate the inclusion of a record mitt to reduce contamination of my albums.

I love music, and I love having physical copies of music. Spotify is great, but what happens when your favorite band pulls their music from Spotify or Apply Music and you don't own any of their records? So personally I cancelled our family's Spotify account and I'm using that money to buy vinyls of all of my favorite bands, converting those records to FLAC files, and importing that music onto a $30 MP3 player to use to listen to music. One of the things I have noticed is that all of the records I bought when living in Florida are all EXTREMELY static-y. Every record I bought when we lived in California is not. So I needed to find all of the ways to mitigate static. Getting rid of my felt slip mats was step 1. So I decided to give this a try. So far it has been awesome and I love it. It's a cool material as well. Minimizing static will reduce the amount of dust that your records collect which will enhance your audio playback. There are a few issues I’ve had that resulted in me taking off a star from my review. One of the big ones was the scratch that was on the platter that was there when the manufacturer shipped it. It was shipped covered in bubble wrap and had a sticker on both sides of the platter so the scratch must have been there from the factory. The second issue is that your vinyl will slip on this when you put any pressure on the record to clean it before listening to it. So I’m not sure if I will continue using this acrylic mat. If I can’t dust my record every time I listen to it, then that’s an issue

This slipmat comes very well protected. There is a cellophane sleeve on the outside, then a cardboard envelope (shown), then inside of that there is a foam sleeve, and inside of the foam sleeve is the slipmat, which is further protected by an adhesive plastic covering. Use the included record mitt and a flat surface when peeling off the plastic covering.I must admit, I was skeptical of whether or not I would notice a difference between this mat and the felt mat that I've been using for years (the one that came with the turntable). I do not consider myself a true audiophile, although I do have a nice Stanton turntable and a lot of albums from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. So I grabbed one of my favorite albums that I am very familiar with - Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" - and did an A-B test to compare. Same volume, same tracking force, same record weight on both plays. I listened in stereo through my speakers.Wow, what a difference. The album sounded MUCH better on this acrylic slipmat - so much so that I wish I had gotten one of these years ago. Bass, particularly drum beats, hit harder and crisper. There was more detail in the instruments. I heard subtle sounds with the acrylic mat that I had never picked up on before with the felt mat.I highly recommend this slipmat. It will bring new life to your albums. As an added bonus, I've read that using a needle on an acrylic slipmat can be used to dial in your anti-skate setting. I might try that next.

This is a great acrylic mat for all you vinyl enjoyers out there. Acrylic is much better than the felt mats in my opinion because it doesn't generate static like the felt ones do. I've been using this one on my turntable and it's been sounding great. The green color is nice and vibrant, and is a nice inclusion to my turntable setup. The mat seems made out of good material and I can see myself using this mat for the foreseeable future. Highly recommend!
