As a beginner, this kit included everything I needed to get started! I'm actually surprised with the quality of yarn and the great color provided! 10/10, hoping to make a decent scarf :3

At seventy-two, I have probably not knitted in fifty years. I am trying to learn, or relearn, skills to keep my brain active. My mother is ninety-one and we both read more than the normal person does. This is an almost perfect kit. The tutorial brought back skills I thought I had forgotten and "muscle memory" took over. I almost through and believe I will order more knitting supplies in the future. If you want to learn, or refresh your learning, this is the kit for you!

First, the color of the yarn is nice and the instructions are good. The knitting needles are adequate although long for my preference. I always start by rolling my skeins into balls so I don't have to mess with tangles later on. Boy oh Boy, does this cheap twisted nylon yarn fray and pull apart! I ended up knotting the ends to keep it from untwisting. Because of this it will be hard for a beginner to use as they will likely pick up only one of the twisted strands with their needle point and that will quickly become frustrating. A higher quality yard with keep it's tight twist and be much more forgiving to the beginner. I will make this knowing these drawbacks and I am sure I will get frustrated, but I will not use this yarn to teach my granddaughter to knit. Save your self and pay more for quality yarn.

I've been crocheting for years, and finally decided to try my hand at knitting again. This kit looked like a good starting place. I appreciate that all the knitting supplies I could possibly need came in the kit: 2 different types of knitting needles (aluminum and what looks like bamboo), yarn needles, stitch markers, yarn clippers, and a flexible retractable tape measure with centimeters and inches marked. The instruction book included has the basic instructions for knitting with different cast-on and cast-off methods. The 3 projects included in the instruction book are fingerless mits, a hat, and a scarf. I appreciate that the instructions include sizes from infant to large adult for the mits and hat, and basic instructions for how to choose the size of your scarf. The consumable supplies are a fluff ball with an attachment ring for the top of the hat and 6 balls of 100 gram/170 meter yarn. The yarn is very soft without being "fluffy" or "fuzzy" which I know from crocheting can cause me issues. The labels on the yarn are entirely in Chinese so I couldn't read them. Thankfully there are online photo translators that seem to work well. If the translator was correct, the yarn is 70% acrylic and 30% long-staple cotton. By feel, I would say that is accurate. I didn't want to wait for a completed project to review the kit, but I may update my review with the finished projects.

This isn't really a bad kit per se, but it's not an ideal one for beginners by any means. The included yarn is extremely poor quality and is very frustrating to work with, this is not at all a good "beginner" yarn due to its proclivity to split apart and break under regular use. The set does come with everything you need to create the finished product, however it is already lacking in yarn quantity and you inevitably waste a certain amount as it breaks apart. I ended up having to substitute my own yarn to complete this set, something a beginner would not have on hand. The included tutorials are not bad, the videos are easy to follow, however the other flaws in this kit make it one I can't really recommend to anyone. The included patterns are very nice, they are extremely basic which is great, however they do not justify the price of this kit.

I love the color but this is the worst yarn ever. It splits and unravels. There were knots everywhere. The instructions are useless if you’re a beginner. The needles are so long they are hard to use. I would not buy. Not worth the frustration
