This is a comprehensive kit that includes everything you need to get started on granny squares-yarn, hooks, stitch markers, and more. It comes with a great pattern book with detailed instructions on many kinds of granny squares from sunflowers, to classic styles. After you complete one you can put in on the enclosed foam blocking board with the pins provided. Comes with all the accessories such as crochet hooks, pins, needles, and stitch markers.

So I got this thinking it would be a great way to start to learn to crochet. No. Everything included in the package is cheap and poorly made. The directions are a joke for someone who is new to this. Very hard to understand when actually trying to learn to do granny squares. The actual directions for that do not have photos, so we are on our own if we have questions. A free video would be much more helpful than this pamphlet. Then, the snippers that are included aren't even sharp enough for the yarn. How is that helpful? And the blocking pad? It's just foam. No pegs or peg holes. I guess we are supposed to use the pins included for that. That's not going to work well. Overall, very disappointed with this. I gave two stars because the yarn can be used for something else. REALLY not worth the cost.

I would not recommend this for beginners, like me. The yarn feats everything I try to creat a second row, and frays often when I YO.Cute kit though, wish it would have worked better
