Given the cost of this unit, I expected a lot from it.Hygrometer was off by 2° from the beginning. It totally crapped out after 12 years. New batteries can not get it to turn on any longer. Maybe my expectations are too high?

Unfortunately this item is supposed to come as a 2-year calibration, but we received one on 02/13/24 that expires next month.

Bought 2 of these but were showing different temperature and humidity when standing next to the other.

Did not like the fact that it was dated due for calibration in Apr 2025. That is about 16 months from now and they require calibration/replacement every 2 years. Guess it was sitting on the shelf somewhere. Oh and it came turned on already so the batteries are probably half dead or it was a returned item for the same reason. The plastic piece was not in the battery holder that you pull out when you buy it. Maybe returned because of date code.

Nothing to dislike about this instrument as I have found it to respond within a minute or two to a new environment and it to be stable by giving me consistent readings and it has enough sensitivity. I am happy with the price when I think about how it works.

NIST traceability was of the essence - used to double-check calibration of other SmartHome units (humidity is notoriously flaky, and some units appear to "measure" by calculation from broadcast outdoor humidity + measured indoor temperature). This unit's measurements proved repeatable and accurate (vs. saturated-salts dual point calibration check).Clever/convenient stand - although I'd have preferred a magnetic mount. Cheap/effective.

Works well in my basement to monitor the atmosphere for my instruments. I checked the calibration with another instrument at work and it was within spec. Close enough for cigars and guitars!

Accurate and easy to read. Great price and comes with NIST cert. Will buy again no problem. Nice product, great price.

This is the third room hygrometer I have purchased. The first two were always in disagreement. Reading reviews of these units convinced me that anything low cost was unreliable. This unit responds quickly and gives readings that are consistent and that appear to be withing a couple of percent of the relative humidity. I highly recommend it.

The Good:This unit comes with a Z540-1 traceable Cal Cert that was done at 24.0C and 45.0%RH.I compared it to another more expensive NIST Traceable unit in my lab and they agree almost perfectly. Instructions are easy enough but is not hard to figure out how to this unit without them. It comes with a tilt stand that is useable but it sets to a fairly low angle. This is a small unit but the display is very crisp and sharp and stays that way no matter what angle you view it from. It appears well built and solid. The not as Good:The included Cal Cert was already 6 months past issue. Be aware there is no decimal resolution on this unit, integers only for Temp and Humidity. This is likely OK for a lot of folks, but I want .1% resolution for my Calibration Reports. My one real complaint - to change the temperature readout from F to C you have to remove the tilt stand/battery compartment door to gain access to that switch. Very inconvenient. You could drill a small hole in the battery compartment door to get around this. This unit is well built and is priced nicely for one that has NIST traceability. However it does have its limitations so I have ordered another (more expensive) unit with .1% resolution and a front panel F/C switch. I like this one enough to keep it as a spare
