I bought this for a client who needed a brand and I thought that'sthe one. It do a good job, but I have mine looking almost the same way costs 60$ and when I compare them they read the same values. So...🤔

I've used one of these in my last job and the unit is excellent. In my previous position, I used it to verify temps and RH in a cold storage facility.I now use it to confirm CRAC units in data centers, MDF and IDF cabinets/rooms.It's perfect for helping you determine if you have a bad sensor in the system. Worth every penny. The only real negative is the cover for the sensor. It is plastic and must be handled with care. In other words, don't DROP it.

Doing HVAC commissioning is easier with this meter, great to calculate dew point, RH, and Temp!

Works well. The accuracy is within about 2% RH when compared to atmospheres with known RH. The instrument is very sensitive and rapidly changes even if you breath too near the sensor. The instrument seems to have been changed from the original 971. There is no sensor shutter on the newer 971. In some ways this change is better since forgetting to open the shutter will still give you a reading but there is not much chance this reading will be right. I keep my 971 rolled up in a small plastic bag to help protect the sensor. The instrument comes with batteries installed. The batteries seem to be of good quality. All-in-all, this instrument more than reliable enough for HVAC work.

I have to say, I'm a bit disappointed with Fluke on this particutlar instrument. I understand it's sensative and is supposed to react fast to temperature & humidity levels but oh my god, it's way too sensative! It seems all the cheaper chinese models (although they are not as sensative) but they do eventually stabilize and give you an actual reading. The Fluke 971 continues to fluctuate up and down and getting a stabilized reading seems impossible. You don't know what to believe with it!You have to leave it sitting idle for atleast 5 minutes before it slows down as it get's closer to the actual temerature, sometimes it can take up to 15 minutes depending on how extreme the temperature & conditions where when it was used before. It does eventually give you the actual room temperature but trying to get a temerature reading from anything else seems almost impossible.

Works great, the only problem we have is the unit we received is missing the cap to cover the sensor for when it is not in use.
