If you're replacing a mailbox lock make sure to keep all your old parts and pieces, it will make the new install that much easier! You'll have to buy the cam for locking separately, but be careful, the newest reinforced cam I bought wouldn't work for me, as it was too bulky for the mailbox I was replacing this lock in.

It has been mentioned by the several buyers that the little piece that locks the door is missing in this item. I had to purchase the lock from another seller to be able to use it.

I know some reviews had issues with this lock. But mine works perfectly and does stop at the 90 degree angle. Keys enter smoothly and turns very smoothly.

Does not come with all parts but can scavenge from existing lock. Easy to install, took less than 5 min.

I found that there were two locks that worked with the US mail box installed in my neighborhood. The multi-box one used in my neighborhood has 12 square boxes. There is the Home Depot one at $9 or this one at roughly $21. Bought both and installed both. While both installed easily, I liked the additional bulk/strength, and better key that came with this one. Also, this one came with an additional key. I noticed that those that replaced their locks, mostly used this lock, probably for the same reason I did.

Things are not made like they use to be or not OEM durability. We gave the lock a 4 in lue of a 5, due to the 1-st lock failed, the 2-nd is not smooth. We'll lube it and do a follow up if it smooths it out.
