When you take the parts out of the box, it looks like an extremely complicated and time-intensive project. However, after just putting the first few pieces together, the overall design makes sense. The entire assembly took me less than 2 hours (other people might be faster). The wood is beautiful, very high quality. Most importantly, the design is both sturdy and intuitive. The company put a lot of thought into engineering it with the result that it is both relatively easy to assemble and durable. The mattress is very nice with a plush surface. I got the navy blue mattress, which is actually kind of turquoise, very pleasing. The futon is very comfortable in the sofa position. Not quite as comfortable in the bed position. There is a slight (very slight) "bump" (really more of a curve) at the fold of the frame when in bed position, but definitely better than a cheaper, lower-quality futon. And, after all, it is a futon so it's impossible to have the same comfort as a bed. Overall, 4.6 or 4.7 out of 5.

Excellent quality futon and frame. Great value. Somewhat easy to assemble, but be patient. Worth the effort. Futon mattress is heavy, well-made.

I am pleased with this purchase. It is a space saver as well as stylish for my room. I like the mattress and the texture. Comfortable and easy to use. I hated putting it together though. I had a really hard time because the instructions are very vague. I did watch a video but still had issues. I put the rollers on backward and was about to return it thinking it was a manufacturing defect. I was the defect though. Once I got it together it was easy enough to put up and down. I do need another pair of hands to put it from couch to bed and back again though. But it is a nice piece of furniture and a space saver. Good luck building it!

Assembly takes a bit of time but instructions are very clear and all pieces are labeled very well. Bolts are separated by step # in assembly process. Frame is solid and transitions from couch to bed easily... until you put the mattress on. Once the mattress is on, it's still easy to convert from couch to bed. But getting it back in the couch position was difficult. Needed two people. Not a big deal as it will only be used as a bed occasionally. Mattress seems comfortable (on the firm side). Overall, I'm happy with this purchase.

This was perfect for what we needed. We needed to get rid of a small foldout couch in our camper and needed something better for sleeping and relaxing. This does sit up a bit more than I thought (in the sense of sitting in a more reclined way so to speak) but it's REALLY comfortable. A bit difficult to go back to go back up from the flat position but we work it out together. No biggie. We used it this summer and no complaints from anyone who slept on it. Very sturdy and solid. Took a bit to put it together, not hard, just a lot of parts is all.

The futon is perfect for my spare room. My son & his wife slept on it and the mattress was comfortable. Very sturdy with the wood frame. Makes a great couch also. Jerry was great at contacting and sending right away. He was very helpful. My husband had no problem assembling. He watched the video on line which was helpful.

This futon is very comfortable. It's supportive and firm, but soft enough to make sleeping on it easy. It's not difficult to put together, a bit time consuming, but the instructions made it simple. The only tool you need is an Allen wrench that comes with the futon, maybe a hammer to get some wooden plugs set, but that's all. Transitioning from sofa to bed is a bit wonky, but easily doable. It comes in two pretty heavy large boxes, so hopefully you get it delivered to your door. I got the Marmot Thunder and it's gorgeous. Honestly couldn't be happier with my purchase and would recommend this to anyone looking for a futon. I sleep on it every night and I sleep well.

We bought this for a guest room. We wanted to make sure there was enough room for two adults to sleep on it but we did not want to always have our spare room taken up as a bedroom. This is the answer for both. The instructions were not the best; take your time. They have two booklets where really they could have been just one- whatever - you will figure it out. There is a "right way" to lay the mattress on the frame so that it folds more readily then if done the opposite way so to speak. Other futons I could put upright alone but this one requires someone on each end. It probably could be done alone but it is far more challenging. We purchased the bonded leather and it is very comfortable and warms up the room. The back (on the frame) is not leather but it is a dark color (black I think) so it should not be distracting if the back is not against a wall. Very pleased with the look, quality and price.
