We have had our Nirvana futon for five days now. We absolutely love this futon. My husband assembled it in about two hours. The mattress is thick and very comfortable when sitting and lying down. The flip out tray arms are handy to set drinks on and not have bulky end tables. The futon is sturdy and well built. We added wheels so that we could easily move the futon on carpet. My only complaint is that the mattress is tufted. That means they put stitching in several spots to hold all of the inner layers in place and they used white thread that sticks out like a sore thumb against the maroon fabric that we chose. Also one of the tufts was missing so there are small holes in the fabric making it vulnerable to a future tear. I am also baffled by how I am going to wash the mattress cover. It has a zipper in it but since it's tufted, I won't be able to take it out of the cover. Frustrating since my futon will be on the screened porch and I would generally want to wash it every season. Other than that, we really like it so far.

I received the frame about 4 days before the mattress so I was able to assemble it in advance. Instruction was straight forward and I was able to put it together mostly alone in about 1.5 hours in a leisurely manner. I used the provided tools - no power tools. I needed help to place the seat on the base. I don’t think anyone could do that alone. It looks great and is well constructed. Worth the price. The mattress is still airing out, but was super soft and comfortable right out of the box! The 2 of the 3 boxes are heavy. I used a hand truck to move them into the house. I am female - for reference to what may or may not be heavy to you.I ordered the navy blue mattress and received it as expected - unlike one review that I read which stated navy is darker or black in color.Overall very pleased that I selected this one. Also, I contacted the company to inquire about the mattress shipment and they were very responsive.

This is a beautiful futon! I chose the green color and it is a true green and so pretty! It adds such color to my study!! The futon mattress is queen size and it is comfortable and very, very soft. I am so happy with my purchase. It took us 1 hour and a half to put the futon together. You need two people to assemble it. Do the back FIRST. Then the bottom SECOND. Then the frame THIRD. You have to line everything up well. It’s a little heavy but quite manageable. I am using it as a couch for my study, which I also work in. It looks really elegant with the sides that provide a place to put a lap top as well as your phone, etc. I did but the futon cover separately but didn’t need it as I’m using a handmade bedspread that’s embroidered. It goes so beautifully with it. I was truly amazed at how nicely it was packaged. It arrived exactly when Amazon gave the estimate for which was about 2 weeks. I read ALL of the reviews before purchasing this. I paid over $600 for this futon in the queen size. It is worth the money. Thank you for making a great product

Very glad that I didn't go with the bad reviews.Everything came in early. Frame was delivered first and the mattress the next day. Everything was without a scratch. It took me about 3 hours to put together but only because I had nothing better to do. I was drinking wine and watching tv while putting it together. The instructions were easy to read and follow. It was also easy to put together as long as you follow the instructions. When it says leave everything loose, you need to leave it loose. Personally, i only gave each dolt 3 turns and it turned out perfect. I was confused on the very last step but my common sense took over! There was nothing to it!It is however hard to maneuver into the couch position. I'm 25 and struggle a little bit but it's definitely doable by myself.Very sturdy and rigid frame. The mattress was the color I wanted. After a long time worrying about what color I should get it really didn't matter because I bought sheets for it. I bought it as my everyday bed because I got the smaller bedroom of our apartment. Super comfortable to sleep in! The mattress is firm but it's not uncomfortable for me and I don't like hard beds.Looks and works as advertised! Super happy about this purchase. Would definitely recommend!

Before making a decision to make this purchase I read the reviews and questions and decided to move ahead. I recently had new carpet installed in the house and wanted more space in one of the guest rooms. So I got rid of the full size bed and added the futon. I strongly suggest laying out all of the pieces to ensure you have every thing and read through the full instructions (as well as reading reviews on the experience of others). The wooden dowels referenced with the hardware list were already attached to the back deck. Make sure you have plenty of space for assembly and that you have measured where you are going to put it. NOTE: the instructions state to leave the side bolts loose and it means very loose or you will run in to issues getting the back deck into the arms. We thought we had them loose enough but had to adjust. It took us 4 hours to assemble. I am 62 and not very strong due to shoulder surgery in December and my husband is 74. You can deduct about 45-minutes of arguing time :) from that but if you are focused I think this could be completed in a couple of hours. We find it takes two people to open and close it which isn't a big deal since it will be used occasionally. We were both very pleased with the comfort of sitting on it when in sofa position and it is comfortable when both of us lay on it. The side table arms are really nice. I have a queen size fiber bed that will go on top for sleeping. It is a very nice and sturdy piece of furniture.
