I was using an older needle for two years and in my climate it was rusting , causing a lot of drag . But it had a big eye. I got a friend to bring these to me in Costa Rica after ordering from Amazon . They feel like a sharp knife thru soft butter and the eye is quite large. I don’t like very short betweens , this one is just right.

Friends highly recommended this brand of needles for embroidery, but the package I received only could be used with two strands of floss and the floss kept snapping. I gave the needles to friends to try out and they experienced the same results. It seems the eyes of the the needles were cut rough. In spite of this issue, friends continue to say John James are the best embroidery needles to use--just not this packer.

I ordered a pack of size 9 John James embroidery needles. The package of needles is a mess. It is open, cracked, and I cannot seal it shut like I can any other pack of needles. I am very disappointed.The problem is not the box they were shipped in, it is the package of needles itself.
