Exactly what I was looking for! I'm using on 48 count silk guaze for a petit point project. Ball point tip to avoid splitting threads and size 12, so thin enough for 48 count canvas and John James so strong!! Seller, please update your detailed product description to state size 12, not size 10. I wasn't sure what I'd actually get.

While I don’t doubt the fine quality of this product, I found that the eye was way too small for my (aged) eyes. Even with benefit of magnifying glasses, it would be impossible for me to thread them.

I decided to try these after using Beadsmith needles for my beadwork and having so many needles either breaking or bending! I am so happy that I gave these a try bc they hold up so much better!!! These are shorter than what I was used to working with but I have found that I actually like them better!

Great needles, however, they need to be a little bit longer. Won’t be buying these again.

These are ball point needles. That means they are not for piercing strong fabric, so that may be why another reviewer broke them. One thing that ball point needles are for is sewing on knits without breaking the threads. For beading, their purpose is to go through strings of beads several times without piercing the previous strands. With a sharp needle, as you go through a strand of beads the second (or third) time you risk putting the needle through previous strands, not only weakening them, but making your work very hard to undo without just cutting up the threads between the beads and starting all over. With certain kinds of beaded embroidery you must pass the thread through the beads as many times as the needle will go through to get the lines of beads to form neat lines instead of wiggly messes. Never force a beading needle. Every kind is very fine and can break or bend. Learn to stop when you have to apply any significant pressure to get the needle through.I love ball point needles. I'm able to work much faster without piercing previous threads.Hint: If you are having to force needles through some seed beads, you may need to buy Japanese beads. They are much more uniform than other kinds, so you won't get as many with too small holes. If you have to use less regular beads, get one of the big-eyed, twisted needles and put three strands of thread through it. Test all your beads before beginning. If they won't slide easily over the test needle, through them away. Check your thread size. Some bead companies have charts of thread sized with the bead sizes they are meant for. Download and print one. It is so much nicer to work when you know which tools are for which use.
