OK hook but not very durable. I have had several of these and looking for a better one. The cheap aluminum construction frequently breaks at the joints where the threads are that tighten and lock down the sections.

This was a good quality, collapsible snake hook that I used throughout southern California to work with rattlesnake species. The hook worked well with my smaller field bag and was appropriate for maneuvering snakes and flipping cover boards (but not heavier items like rocks) and wasn't quite as functional as one you could use for a walking stick. I found it held up well and was happy with it.This is written in past tense because I lost it out of my bag.

Best $50 I have ever spent the hook doesn't rust and collapses enough to fit in my backpack for after school herping. Would recommend to anyone interested in buying a quality, and portable snake hook. The only negative thing I could find about it is my constant anxiety to not extend it to its full 39 inches rather to 38, I keep the last inch on the lock closet to the hook in fear that it'll bend but besides that I would buy a second

Almost entirely useless garbage. Unless you are using it with neonates (new born snakes) or very small snakes, very, very small snakes, then this is crap. I am a breeder of boa constrictors and I was hoping to get some use with this hook as a field hook. I was mistaken. It is very weak. I would not trust it to lift a slug.

My son is into catching garter shakes around our house (it backs up to woods) and he really wanted a snake hook. It is light and collapsable, and easy for him to use. It is actually bigger than I thought it would be, meaning the hook itself is pretty large, but if you need a good easy to carry and handle snake hook, this should meet your needs.

Need this for my soon to come pets and, believe it or not, there are quite a few other similar products out there.MidWest has a good rep in the reptile supplies field and that's why I got this hook. Well made and smooth operation. Locks tight at any length with a simple twist of the lock screws. again, very important considering the intended use of the product.Well done and planning on getting another.
