I only started drinking coffee a couple of years ago when I was in my mid-fifties. A friend introduced me to iced coffee on an extremely hot and humid Montreal summer day and it was love at first sip. Since then, I have started to drink hot coffee as well but admit I take mine weak still and use a flavoured coffee creamer.I have been experimenting with making iced coffee at home using a pod coffee machine. One of my biggest problems is that I never have enough space in the freezer for ice.This cold brew coffee maker solves my problem. The set comes with a pitcher which holds 64 ounces, a filter, instructions and a cleaning brush. To use the cold brew coffee maker, you put your coffee in the ultrafine filter. You pour the water over the grounds until the pitcher is filled. Then you wait patiently. You store the pitcher in the refrigerator. You have cold coffee ready to drink. You can add ice, your favourite flavoured creamer, syrups or whatever else you’d like to customize your brew. You can also make iced tea using loose tea in this pitcher as well. The key is the ultrafine filter which prevents any coffee grounds or tea leaves from escaping into the drinking liquid.The pitcher is mason jar style and has a leak-proof lid. There is a handle and pouring spout. The thick glass pitcher also has measurements marked in the glass on the side. It is not only functional but looks good enough to put on the table.As it can be stored and brewed in the refrigerator, it is plenty cold so you only need as ice if that is your preference.When originally ordered in late October, the cold brew coffee maker set was $24.99. The price is currently $17.99 (February 2025) which I consider to be affordable and would recommend the set to anyone who enjoys a cold brew. This pitcher not only functions well to brew your iced tea or iced coffee but it can serve well for other drinks as well.Photos to come

Like everyone else, I agree the handle could be larger. It seems proportionately too small and makes me a bit nervous when the pitcher is full. It’s easy to clean and makes a nice cold brew.

WHY I GOT THISInflation is real! I went to my neighbourhood coffee shop and was shocked at the price of a simple latte. I will go broke if I have to buy all those cold brews this summer! This kit solves that problem.PROS(It’s winter in Montreal, so I’m not using this a lot right now, but it will definitely get used loads in a few months.)- Big enough to serve a group or to last a couple of days. Yay!- Easy to use and to clean.- Contains everything you need to brew a successful batch (except the coffee).- Uses quality materials that will last for many summers to come (except the cleaning brush, but I have many of those).CONS- This isn’t really a “con”. The kit is a little bulky. I am inclined to use it for other things (otherwise it will spend 85% of the time in storage, and that’s not how I roll).

With very little effort you have half a gallon of Cold Brew Coffee in 24 hours. Adjust the strength by amount and type of Coffee. Wish I knew sooner!

Brewing large batches of cold brew has never been easier. This large pitcher lets me make almost a gallon of cold brew at a time. The mesh filter keeps grounds contained while allowing smooth extraction, no coffee grounds get into my cold brew. Cleaning is straightforward, they provide a brush. The lid is kind of annoying, you need to remove the coffee grounds and clean it before being able to pour the cold brew. Ideal for anyone who enjoys fresh cold brew at home.

I bought this, not for cold brew coffee, but to use as a tea maker! It’s been perfect for brewing tea—the dense filter keeps all the tea ingredients separate from the water. It’s just the right size to hold about six tea bags, and I let it steep in the fridge overnight to make a tea concentrate I can enjoy over the next few days. Really pleased with how versatile and easy it is to use.

The instructions are easy to follow and they provided some recipes. I like a stronger coffee so I added more grinds and let it steep for 48-72 hours. The coffee filter is easy to clean so that is great being it is tall and narrow. So far I am very happy with the brewer. Just be sure that the rubber seal s in place properly before tightening the lid. I didn't check and I had a bit of a spill.
