There are NO instructions included with the device. However, I tried every possible way to use it to break the bead. There is no way to do it! It only works as a device to hold the bead out of the way once it is already broken from the rim. Once inserted it can expand the opening easily by using the knob to screw it down. However, that's not what I bought it for.
