This thing works, but you have to be careful to not damage your rim. I placed a piece of UHMW I had laying around to protect the rim where it makes contact and that saved the rim. Mechanically it works good and breaks the bead. I was using on 35” off-road tires on a 20” rim.

I used this tool on 10 "widow maker" split ring tires. Even my daughter (100 lbs soaking wet) could use this tool, and these tires were literally decades old stuck to the rims! Even after 10 insanely difficult tires, this tool is still in great shape. Even though I won't use it often (I hope), it has a permanent spot in my garage.

Returned it in the end.Came without instructions, but figured it out.Couldn't get a good bite on a 16" aluminium wheel. It was beginning to damage the rim so I gave up.

This was the nicest looking and more expensive of this model I saw. I purchased because it was supposed to do aluminum rims,It is a giant pice of crap!I tried everything even trying to drive it in, bad idea gouged the rimThe problem was the feet are straight in the frontSo you can not get the sides under the rim, this was a pickup rim not a tiny toy car that would be worse,Like I said it was a pice of crap, took the truck to the tire shop and had them do the job.I might try and grind a semi circle on the leading edge then re bevel the foot, it’s that or use it as a drift boat anchor.Did not work, would not recommend, hav it 2 stars because it was exactly like the photos.

The tool works but it has some short falls. The designers put a set screw much too close to the striking surface and it's too easy to strike it with a hammer or maul (too hard to avoid striking it). The other thing is that it was labeled as a tool for tractor tires and large equipment. The lips that push on the rim and bead are too short for a snug fit on these large equipment tires. It got the job done for me but not without frustration in breaking down two 16 inch front tractor tires.

I have a harbor freight tire changer, the bead tool would not touch my rims,, then I got another and it wouldnt do it,, bought this, with the extra jaw, saw someone said theirs broke,, Someone else said needs a thrust washer,, this is the truth but I used it on two rims, I did take it apart and grease it with wheel bearing grease but did not remove the roll pin, there just wasnt any room for a thrust washer ( probably should be one on top and inside,) anyhow,, I used a Ryobi 1/2 inch battery impact driver, I can see if you used this to many times on the jaw it would shatter, not bend, I didnt go nuts,, worked like a champ,, got tire down an inch and moved tool a few times, I think it took me a total of 10 minutes a rim,, has a 4 inch bead inside, dunno why that design but ... this tool is amazing, and heavy,, while I dunno about daily life ( if you do it at a tire shop get a real tool.),., but now done, will sit and wait for next tire change out, probably 6 years like the last ones.

It does work but not great on aluminum rims, I found it difficult to get a proper bite on a rim but it does work.
