This stainless steel clothesline comes with a turnbuckle and a few pieces of hardware, making it fairly easy to install. It’s very strong, and holds clothes well without much sagging. It looks neat and tidy, and works very well with clothespins.

There are several reasons that I wanted this metal clothesline. My old rope one needed to be replaced anyway, and this metal one solves the problems that made the old one fail. From hanging out in the weather, the rope one just became weak. Being wet, and dry, and wet, and dry, ad infinitum, is not good for organic materials, and the clothesline is no different. In its weakened state, it kept coming loose and having to be re-tied or reattached. Additionally, I have a long distance between the hooks that hold up the ends of the clothesline, and so I have a supplemental "hook" in the middle to keep it from dragging the wet clothes on the ground. Due to the vagaries of the wind, the weather, and the weight of the clothes, the middle of the old rope line dragged back and forth and back and forth across that hook until it was threadbare. The metal line has taken care of these issues. It is not affected by the weather, nor does getting dragged across the hook make it weak. The screwed adjuster makes it relatively easy to make it taut. All in all a good alternative to "traditional" clotheslines!
