This replaced a negative scanner I had for years but gave up in frustration as it was extremely difficult to use with a small screen. The scanner has a large screen to see what you're scanning, the selection process is easy and intuitive and the scanning itself is very fast. I scanned about 6 rolls of film from a trip to Turkey taken in 1993 and it allowed me to find the negative I wanted quickly. A must have to go with the scanner is a sd card as it makes the process of transferring to a computer easy - it labels each photo scanned with IMG01, 02 etc., which, if you save to a sd card and do all the scanning for a particular roll of film or rolls of film, allows you to send it as a group and you can rename the files all at once. I would then recommend (after saving to the computer) deleting the photos on the card for the next project. The scanner comes with an instruction manual, but it's easy enough to use without it.

I bought this expecting to be disappointed but it worked great for me, yeas it could have been a little more glitzy perhaps and the buttons you press feel a little cheap. But it brings up the photographic slides my grandfather and father took when I was still a twinkle, I can take a picture with it and then send back to my parents to see again in full glory. Now some of the slides emulsion has suffered but you do what you can. I also tried some old 35mm negatives I had in a box and they worked perfectly. It does take a little bit of getting used to and it doesn't like the memory card being removed and put back in to continue so leave it alone and connect to your computer via a usb lead.I even came across some old film slides that were square, think 126 or 120 cannot remember, but this unit actually can be set for this size. I was very impressed, way more that I expected. I'm keeping ti because when I go back to my parents I will take all the old negatives they have back with me to scans those as well.Worth the money and it did what it said on the box.

Compared to a flatbed photo scanner it's probably a much better choice. I scanned 30+ films in one evening. Scanning whole film can take 10-15 minutes (compared to 5+ minutes per frame on traditional flatbed scanners, multiply that by 36 for a whole film).Quality is pretty good, even though there is room for improvement (I wish it could do HDR, for instance).Very easy to use. In most cases handles colors and brightness automatically, and you can correct them easily if there is a need.Quality of the scans obviously depends on quality of the originals, but you can improve your photos after scanning using one of those AI-based tools. Now the bad parts:- initially I couldn't make it save scans. It turned out I needed to wait a little (a few seconds?) after turning it on, otherwise it refused to save photos to the SD card.- sometimes (very rarely) it suddenly shows the photo in weird colors. Usually partially taking out the film tray and then putting it back helps.- once or twice it started visibly glitching, so I had to turn it off and back on- I couldn't scan some of my slides because their frames were too thick for the adapter. Possibly because they are non-standard slide frames made in USSR.I still recommend this product, it's a nice solution for digitizing old films and slides. Easy to use, relatively inexpensive, and capable of making great looking photos.

I have never scanned film before. After reading many reviews I decided to order this one and I'm happy I did. The instructions are clear and easy for my old eyes to read.I scanned some black and white negatives and the results met my expectations.I have negatives from years gone by to scan next.Overall excellent experience.

So far, it seems to do a good job, but it cropps 35mm slides and negatives. Not by much, but I would rather get the whole frame. Other than that, it is easy to use and creates good images.

Easy to use. You can reduce brightness and adjust RGB by several stops up and down, for each color. In my opinion the saturation is too high and there is no way to adjust this in the unit. The auto bright is too bright and I adjust it down 1 to 2 stops to reduce blow out so I can gain those tones for any post processing. Clarity is reasonable. I am not fond of the digital look the unit gives. I compared this unit to using my 8 year old DSLR and the DSLR was better but, not by much. The speed at which I am able to scan makes up for that since these are only or family viewing and I am not getting rid of the slides. In a nutshell; for family to be able to see their history/catalog, and have pretty decent images this is a great choice. Both of my images were minimally processed post scan.

easy to use, creates decent jpeg images both black and white and full color..the unit itself is light plastic, I don't give it a long lifespan..I have thousands of slides and negatives to scan, hope it lasts. HOWEVER, I ran 52 year old b and w negatives through it and it did a pretty good job, so I am happy.

I was able to convert more than 500 negatives and slides in less than 8 hours. You do not need to remove the trays in most cases unless the negative strip is very short.Slides go fast also only needing to remove the tray for the last slide in a long sequence.NOTE: I did need to use photo editing software to adjust the color and exposure. This can be done in MS Photos which is free in Windows 10. This was mainly because the source material is between 20 to 90 years old. (Yep, I scanned some 1930s 620 negatives and except for some cropping it worked fine.)Use the following at your own risk:120 / 620 film --> If you removed the film try (or caddie) 120 / 620 film does fit and takes descent images.... however for 120/620 expect some cropping. I was surprised how well it worked.Use the following at your own risk:I was able to view 220 film with the caddie removed , but since 220 is so long it would cut off much of the picture.. so OK to see what is on the roll, but not really to scan. Hope this helps..

It simply didn't work. When the icon was set to "slide" and you hit OK to indicate you wanted to scan a slide, the screen advanced to the next icon which was for scanning film. I never could get it to stay on slide when I hit OK. Also the slide frame holder didn't actual hold the slide in place. I had to put the slide in several times before I realized unless you did so, the slide would change positions in the holder. No protective packing material whatsoever in the package except the manufacturer's box and slight packing materials. It was shipped in a plastic bag and nothing else. Maybe this why it didn't work. It got beat up on its way here?
