I worked with film for over 50 years. Slicing up negatives between frames was always stressful, either with a scissor or my paper trimmer. This solves the problem and works with any negative size I currently use.Points off for: high price, light is sometimes flaky.

Does a great job cutting negatives straight. Has a great bright light that can be dimmed. Razor is good, worth the buy.

Dos cosas me hubieran gustado más, que el corte fuera más limpio (a veces tienes que darle dos o tres veces) y que sujetara mejor la película para no cortar donde no quiero.

I’ve had my fair share of times I’ve fallen way behind on cutting and sleeving my negatives not to mention accidentally cutting the negative in the wrong spot. This film cutter solves all those problems. I was able to cut and sleeve about 20 rolls of 35mm and 10 120 in about 20 minutes!! Perfect cuts every time. Highly recommend the device does put off some heat after extended use but other than that it’s an essential tool for me now.

Instructions come in English, German, and Chinese. That should be a clue this is intended for serious photography people. Easy to use; I hooked the USB drive to a computer to provide power rather than take a chance on direct AC. The backlight is wicked intense and has multiple settings. The gradations on the cutter base are precise, easy to use, and straight as an arrow--wish I could say the same for some of the old 35mm film I'm trying to reverse engineer! I'm used to using a 16mm guillotine splicer and this device works on a slightly different principle. Take the brief instructions seriously. The cutter blade is extremely sharp and will damage your film if you set it down for even an instant. Hold the tension bar shut with left index finger and secure the film with the other three fingers of your left hand as you cut, gently, with the right hand (cutting toward you works better than cutting away). Slices through decades-old cellulose acetate effortlessly. Totally satisfied with my purchase.
