Petit instrument indispensable pour veiller à l'arrosage parfait des plantes, tant celles à l'extérieur qu'à l'intérieur. Depuis l'achat, je m'en félicite toutes les fois où je l'utilise puisque selon leur emplacement, leur taille ou l'espèce, il est dorénavant aisé de savoir si la plante a besoin ou pas d'être arrosée. I have two - one for home and one for my plants in my office. I read the reviews but have not had the issues that some have had. I do clean it off after each use and am careful when pushing into the soil. The readings seem decently accurate to me for something I didn't spend a lot of money on. It's nice not having to stick my finger in all my pots to see if they are dry.

If I were to have trusted this meter, I would encounter root rot with my monstera. I decided to purchase a water meter to make sure that when I water my Monstera Albos and monstera plants, the soil is dry enough as these plants can’t endure overly wet conditions. I watered my Monstera about 48 hours ago, I received my plant soil meter today and was excited to try it. It read that my moisture levels were at a level 2 at most, when I felt the soil, it was quite obviously moist and I was actually worried that I had put too much water. If I were to trust this water meter I would have watered it again certainly encountered root rot. The soil for a Monstera elbow and just want steroids in general must be well aerated and well draining in order for water not to accumulate. This might be why it detected dryness? But by any means, it did not measure an accurate reading. I decided to try it on my other plants that I had watered that day. Again they showed dry on the meter. This product was worthless and if anything I am a little worried that it might have damage roots as I put it into the soil at root level and moved it around in order to see the reading. It was overall worthless and would have cost me my plants had I decided to trust the reading and add more water. I will be returning this product immediately.

This might be the best looking of these types of water meters I've managed to find - it certainly is classier than the usual bunch out there. It does what it says it does, and the information on moisture levels for different plants is super helpful. It is a little surprisingly expensive for what it is, but I guess thats what you get.There is one quirk to using it that is annoying and I haven't figured out a way to consistently stop it from happening. Often the tip becomes loose or fails to connect with the internal mechanism that allows the device to show the moisture reading. You have to remove the tip, clean it, reinsert it and try reading again. Sometimes you have to do this a couple times before the contact is secure enough for a reading.
