Swab on string snags inside the clarinet, and after just 2 months of use the weight has fallen out of the end of the string.

First of all the value for this is high, the quality is really good, and the cleaning power is so good that the cloth cleans all the spit out

I've only used the cork grease, key oil, screwdriver, and swabs. It does come with gloves, a couple brushes, and thumb rest that I don't use.The swabs are absorbent. The cork grease and key oil are pretty standard. The screwdriver is small enough to fit around the valves. This is a really good starter kit if you know someone just beginning with a clarinet or similar woodwind. It will help them keep their instrument in top condition between tune-ups.

I ordered this mainly to get a new cleaning cloth. I was excited to see that it is made from highly absorbent cloth like the quick dry towels, but thin and soft like an eyeglass cleaning cloth. However, I like to run my cloth through my whole horn at once, mouthpiece to bell. The string is a bit short. It is shoestring like so it stretches a little, but I had to really poke my finger up the bell to grab hold. I have resorted to stuffing it into the mouthpiece a bit and then I can just reach the weight and pull it through. A bit longer cord would help. The absorbing pieces for under pads work great. The cloth is very absorbent. The thumb pad is nice but after a long practice, my thumb was a bit sore. I like that it is thinner than mine. It is spongy. But the thinness means that it doesn't quite do the job I would like for a longer practice. But I will keep it for shorter stints because the thinness actually leaves my thumb in a better position. The cork grease is the usual fare. I haven't used the screwdriver or oil as I haven't needed it. The mouthpiece brush could be useful especially for those who have eaten right before playing. I'm not sure what else it would help with. The polishing cloth seems to be of similar material as the cleaning cloth, but it may be different. Perhaps if I would have had it sooner right after I had my horn in the shop, I could have kept the horn shinier. It is just hard to buff in all the nooks and crannies of a clarinet. The kit lacks a bag to hold it altogether. The cleaning cloth goes in my case, but the rest is left loose and it would be nice to contain it in a small zippered pouch.

This clarinet cleaning set has good quality cleaning cloths. There are 4 different types of cleaning cloths in this set. It also comes with cork grease, valve oil, cleaning tools, and a small screwdriver for loose keys. It even comes with a silicone thumb rest. It's a great kit with a little of everything, especially for new music students. It comes with white gloves, that we will never use. That could have been left out.

- the swab is nice, the shape makes it easier to pull through than the standard square ones which sometimes get wadded up. It's also a nice absorbency- I wouldn't use the bottle brush shaped mouthpiece cleaner. I prefer softer bristles and I would never use one with an exposed metal stem. It's too easy to scratch the mouthpiece. The little toothbrush cleaner is nice though - it's slim and has soft bristles.- the rest is fairly standard, it's always nice to have an extra thumb rest pad and cork grease.- I don't play with gloves, but if I did, it wouldn't be these, the fingers are bulky. They're probably more for handling a saxophone so it doesn't get tarnished while cleaning etc.
