This is a solid stand and so simple to put together. The diameter is very small, so double check it will fit your tree. It was a great switch from the plastic stand my fake tree came with.

I don't know why we keep putting our faith in those plastic Christmas tree bases -- you know the ones -- with the 4 triangular pieces that fit into those slots . . . those flimsy little slots that eventually break because one of them always bears just a little more weight than the others.We usually put up 3 trees; one main and two other smaller ones upstairs and down. But this year as we were putting up the last tree, we remembered that the base had broken the year before and we had planned to figure out a replacement. So we were stuck with my thrown together DIY base using a couple of slats of wood nailed together and a hole drilled through the center. Not a perfect solution because it's hard to drill a hole without the exact size hole-drilling bit. I had to chisel it out until it wedged in. It worked, but was fairly wobbly because the wood slats were fairly thin like leftover door trim.I saw this item just as we were taking down our Christmas decorations this year. It was about a week late, but it was at least planning ahead for next year.This thing is sturdy, and it's almost identical to a base that was included with the other tree, so we know it works. No fear of cats tipping it over as it's very wide and it screws in place nicely.It has plastic covers for the bare metal legs that touch the floor -- a nice touch. The metal used is thick and sturdy painted dark green to blend in. The price is a bargain. The three set-screws included can be adjusted to get the tree leveled.Overall, a great item. Might even be good to have a few extras on hand. Five stars.

Worked to replace the stand for my parents ~40?? year old fake tree. I have this same style for my own so I knew what to expect. Its super easy to assembly (twist it open and screw the pins in) and held strong through Christmas.

This is the smaller one. It actually looks identical to the one we had with the tree originally. That one broke this year, so we got this one to replace it.Our tree is actually a 6 1/2 foot tree, with a 54" diameter base.I agree with others that overall this does seem small but honestly, it seems more durable than the one our tree came with. So we got it wondering if it would work, and it is.We opened it, unfolded, plopped the tree in, added the screws. They tightened nicely and it is sitting stable on our hardwood floor.I woud caution against this stand if you have it on carpet unless you have a smaller tree, (like 3' tall for example). But if you put it on a flat surface it seems to do well.
