What a slick little waffle maker! We've used this several times now and are completely satisfied with the size and quality of the waffles. We've used a couple of boxed mixes and they both work as expected. And cleanup....well, there is no cleanup. No mess, no fuss The little measuring cup is fine, and they even have pegs underneath for wrapping up the power cord. We love this little waffle maker!

This waffle maker is seriously awesome. It feels really sturdy and well-made, not like some cheap plastic thing. My waffles cook evenly and come out perfect every time. Cleanup is a breeze too, which is a huge bonus. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who loves waffles.

I love this thing! It makes nice large waffles and they look perfect! It’s really quick and easy to use and there is no spillage thanks to the inside rim.I use spray cooking oil to grease it before use and I find this helps with cleaning. I just use an antibacterial rag to wipe off and can get my finger into most of the crevasses. For the smaller crevasses I use a chopstick and a cloth. Works great and is quick to clean since not much sticks to it.This has been a great addition to our kitchen especially with low-carb recipes. We make lots of “chaffles” and it makes it so easy. The lights work well at signaling when it’s done or ready to add ingredients. There is a little click when the blue light comes on so that’s nice to have. The latch has gotten stuck once or twice but I just make sure to clean the latch with every use now and it’s been fine since doing that.

This was a gift for my dad last Christmas. I bought it based on the thousands of reviews. He and my mom LOVE it! They have been wanting a waffle iron for awhile. They have bought a couple over the years but either they make subpar waffles or it broke. This one had rave reviews and the price seemed pretty affordable. Let's just say the reviews don't lie. This makes AMAZING waffles! It's very user friendly and very easy to clean as well. Once you play around with the settings on how dark you like your waffles (through trial and error), you are good to go.Highly recommend!

I've had this for a few weeks and made waffles about once a week. Unit stays clean, the cord length is sufficient for my kitchen counter and the cord wraps around provided prongs and the unit stands on end for easy storage. I don't use the provided cup but just use a spoon to fill about 2/3 of the grid area with my batter. Most times my waffles come out looking nice and there is no overflow. When too much batter is added, it mostly spills into the provided catch groove and cooks there as well. The only issue so far is that when waffles are done, the top will always stick to the waffle at least a bit, so it requires some effort to lift the lid. You can release the catch with one hand, but then there's no easy way to firmly hold the bottom in place while you apply force to lift the lid. And the whole area where you are doing this is hot. I usually wind up using a plastic fork or spatula to press down on the bottom side of the unit while giving the lid some quick jerks to get it separated from the waffle. Then you'll need some kind of plastic utensil to extricate your waffle, usually from the bottom plate. So far, I've seen no problem with the unit heating up quickly or completely cooking the waffles. The "ready" /"cooked" light is small and, under bright lighting, it's not always easy to tell if it is on or off. But that seems to be a problem with all waffle makers since the beginning of time!

The Chefman Anti-Overflow Belgian Waffle Maker w/Shade Selector, Temperature Control, Mess Free Moat, Round Iron w/Nonstick Plates & Cool Touch Handle, w/Measuring Cup Included, and in the Black color arrived in perfect new condition. I followed the simple directions as set forth in the instruction manual. I plugged in the Chefman Anti-Overflow Belgian Waffle Maker w/Shade Selector and set the shade to 3 on the dial. I immediately noticed that there is no on or off switch. It immediately starts to heat when plugged in and turns off only when unplugged. The temperature control and the shade selector are basically the only controls you have and I really have no problem with that. I just have to remember to unplug the waffle maker when I am finished using it. I purposely left it sit unplugged when I was finished making waffles and waited to see what would happen. Well, the green indicator light which tells you it is heating keeps turning off and on. The red indicator light remains on telling you it is plugged in untill you pull the electric cord plug from your wall outlet. Pulling the plug is the on and off switch. This waffle maker is only 700 watts but it heats up FAST and HOT. I found after several uses that number 2 on the dial is perfect for my taste in waffles. Number 3 is as high as I would ever use for waffles. I found that when I was in a hurry and just dumped all the waffle batter ingredients into the mixing bowl and gave it a quick stir to the correct consistancy the batter was cold and 3 on the dial worked perfectly for the first 2 waffles . Here is the deal folks. If you want your waffle to have a little moisture left in them when they hit your plate you got to take them out IMMEDIATELY or else you have tasteless-dried out- crumbling pieces of cardboard on your plate that won't even soak up butter or syrup. The baking powder recipe waffle batters turn tasteless and dry very quickly. My g-grandmother's yeast waffle batter is the best and cooks thoroughly and comes out with just the right moisture content on 2 on the dial. You will notice steam start pouring out at a very fast rate from the waffle maker just as the green indicator light goes off. Do not dilly dally around and leave the waffle in the maker as it will keep drying out and will burn and smell like burnt toast instead of a nice vanilla flavored fork tender waffle. You want crispnes but not brunt hockey pucks. The waffle releases easily from the non-stick plates. I have never used the measuring cup included with the Chefman Anti-Overflow Belgian Waffle Maker because I try to use as few cups and spoons as possible. I use a metal one half cup measuring with a handle and it fill it just to the rim to pour my waffle batter onto the waffle plate. I close the waffle maker and the lid locks into place perfectly and in less than 2 minutes the waffle is done. I found that giving the batter I just poured onto the waffle plate a quick leveling out with the measuring cup gives me a perfect round waffle with no voids and no overflowing. But if it does overflow the nice overflow rim catches it all. Folks this is a very nice easy to use waffle maker. As always practice makes perfect and just like when making pancakes you usually mess up the first one. The left overs freeze nicely and warm easily in the toaster. You just got to remember that they dry out fast. I found that it is when you add ingredients like berries or chocolate chips that you get waffles that stick to the waffle plates. I fooled around a bit and tried using this waffle maker as a panini maker and to grill cheese. You can get it to work but it just isn't worth all the mess and work involved. The Chefman Anti-Overflow Belgian Waffle Maker w/Shade Selector cleans up really easily. It also stores nicelly standing up on it's edge. The cord storage is also a nice feature. The fact that the waffle maker is small was the selling point for me. I have a large waffle iron that makes 4 square waffles at a time but unless I am having a crowd in for brunch it's not ptactical for this single empty nester. I personally have perfected my g-grandmothers yeast waffle batter recipe so that I get maybe 3 waffles from one small bowl of batter. The only thing I find wrong with the waffle maker is that the black finish which I selected because it was on sale at a huge savings is that the finish is matte and shows all of your oily or buttery finger prints, They come off but a smooth gloss finish would have been better. The Chefman Anti-Overflow Belgian Waffle Maker w/Shade Selector is a great product and a really good buy when it is on sale. It is nothing more than what it claims to be and in it's price range. Buy it and you will be glad you did. No bells and whistles just a plain easy to use waffle maker. Sorry that this is a long review but I like reviews and testimonials all wrapped into one. You wanted a review and now you got one from a classically trained retired chef.

After reading various mixed waffle iron reviews, I ordered this Belgium Waffle Iron 4/3/23 and received it 4/4/23. I'm writing this review on 4/5/23. Couldn't wait to use it, as I've never had one before. This morning I made delicious plant-based waffles (I'm vegan) out of oatmeal from a recipe I found online. Just throw the oatmeal, plant-based milk and nut-butter, applesauce and other minor ingredients into a blender and blend. Couldn't have been easier. The recipe suggested throwing out the instructions for any waffle iron regarding using a light/beep, etc. for the waffle being done, so I decided to take that advice, which was to wait until there was no steam coming from the iron (to determine readiness) and to wait an extra 5 minutes after the light notes being ready before pouring in the batter. My waffles were perfect!!! Very crisp. After each one cooked, I placed it on the oven rack (no plate) to maintain crispness at 200 degrees. My only complaint is the measuring cup that comes with the iron is crap. The directions say something about ml readings on the cup, but the actual cup reading isn't metric. I just used a ladle I had and used 2 full scoops of the ladle to pour into the iron. It worked fine. I didn't take off for this. I didn't use any oil, as the iron is non-stick. Just make sure the iron is very hot before pouring the batter. Clean up was easy. Also, I like the way the iron can be stored on it's side for minimal storage. I know I have only used the iron once, but very surprised how the iron performed and how reasonably priced it was. If I have any issues with the iron in the future, I will update this review.
