This chain breaker kit has the heft to push out any size chain pins that you are likely to encounter. I haven't needed to break my Kawasaki chain yet but have found the tool works well for removing and installing oversize BMX bicycle chains that a regular bicycle chain tool won't fit. Solid steel kit should last forever with occasional use.

I have a Honda Shadow with a shaft drive but access to chain drive motorcycles. You can use a punch to break the chain, but this is a great kit to have to do it easier and better. It's great having a few sizes. The box feels as sturdy as any of these kits come with and the tools durable. One of those specialty tools you hope you don't have to use often but very grateful to have it.

Works great. This is not the first chain breaker kit I have had. I have had several in the past exactly like it. And they always work. Never had any complaints about them other than the screw in bar not being long enough for holding it in place when tightening. But that is not a design flaw. Its a me flaw. lol

Does this look like a new tool? Glad I didn't send this as a Christmas present to anyone. There weren't any instructions supplied. I've changed hundreds of chains as an industrial mechanic-large and small. I have good chain breakers. This kit should have included a grinder for starters. I won't bother trying with this weak assembly. I don't think it would knock out the pins on my bike chain. Look at the 3 anvils in this kit. I think someone got this kit, used it and didn't like it. Returned it. They wouldn't deform if they were hardened properly. Amazon is good about returns. But terrible about allowing returns to be sold again, as new. AMAZON, where is your moral integrity? Or are you just becoming a free tool loan company?I used the tool because I had already taken my old chain off. The drive pin that goes through the C frame press was so badly deformed when I received it, that I had to drive it out with a hammer and punch. My guess is that they tried to break a chain without grinding the pin first, and it just bent the drive pin. It took 15 minutes to semi straighten that pin. There are things I like about the kit. I will probably ask to exchange for a "new" kit replacement.
