Had to replace a string on my son’s cello after I tried to tune it, never having tuned anything before, and snapped the string. Got a whole set and the quality is equal to what came on the cello. I think it would sound good if he knew how to play, but honestly, I wish I would have just left the broken string. Good value for the money and was easy to install. My recommendation is to not get your kids interested in instruments.

Great student strings. It's probably not for Yo-Yo Ma, but for the average Joe, it's good. The best quality string for the cheapest price I could find. If you can afford Jargar, go for it. If you can't, these are the perfect replacement. If anything, they're a little long for 3/4 cello, but they'll work. It's just slightly annoying to put on, but the sound isn't affected.

Just in the package, the A string looked like a viola or violin string. So thin I thought it was a genuine mix up. I compared them with my normal student grade strings already on the cello , and you can see from the photo how cheap the top one is. The wiring itself looks like it’s not wound tight enough and there’s tiny gaps in the string. I’m not Yo-Yo Ma, but I’m not a beginner either, & I wouldn’t even recommend this as a cheese wire... Might cut your little one’s fingers.

So I like it but I’m not a professional and I haven’t even been able to take any classes I’m just someone who likes the sound and plays a bit for fun. They are lasting better then the ones that came with the cello but I can not speak for anyone wanting a professional one maybe see other reviews.

I started playing cello several years ago as an adult. I play in a community orchestra and am hesitant to play notes on my A string because it has always screeched. I have tried several different brands even paying up to 30 per string with the same results. They sounded great when I knew what I was playing, but if I was hesitant and played lightly the A string and sometimes D screeched. These strings play with the softest touch and sound good. Not as good as the previous more expensive strings when playing with confidence, but I had my best performance with the orchestra yet this past weekend. I did not care for the C and D strings, but at the price of the set, only using 2 isn't a real loss.

Was looking for something to put on my garden cello. These are a nice string that work for that purpose. Very easy to install and tune. Softer to the touch than preludes and sound just as good. Looking forward to playing them.

These strings are a good value for the money. I'm more of a hobbyist cellist rather than a professional and they are better strings than I'm used to.

I had just broken one of my strings when I thought to myself, "it's probably about time to replace them all anyway". After looking at all of the $50+ sets, I came across this one and noticed it's stellar reviews. I figured that for $30 they would be worth giving a try, just in case there was something to them. After restringing, I can honestly say that the sound from these cheap strings blew me away. I highly recommend them!
