About this item

  • The X-Cel LX 2x Barlow Lens (Celestron) doubles the magnification of 1.25" eyepieces; moon filter (Celestron) reduces moon glare and enhances crater details.
  • The Barlow lens features 3-element apochromatic, fully multi-coated optics offering bright, sharp images with rubber grip and brass compression ring.
  • The moon filter threads onto most 1.25" eyepieces easily and useful for bright planets and terrestrial viewing.
  • The Barlow lens model no. is 93529; moon filter model no. is 94119-A.
  • The Barlow lens is compatible with 1.25" filters; the moon filter works with telescopes accepting 1.25" eyepieces.

Celestron 93529 X-Cel LX 1.25-Inch 2x Barlow Lens (Black)
When inserted between the eyepiece and telescope, this x-cel 2x Barlow lens doubles the magnification of all your 1. 25" Eyepieces. The premium apochromatic optics yield High contrast, sharp images, virtually free of false color. The Black anodized housing with orange highlights matches the eyepieces in the Celestron x-cel LX line. A centralized rubber grip helps to keep your hands securely on the barrel, even when your fingers are cold or you are wearing gloves. A brass compression ring just inside the top of the x-cel Barlow grabs your eyepiece gently but firmly when you turn the thumbscrew. Once the thumbscrew has been secured in place, the brass ring keeps your eyepiece in the Barlow instead of relying on the tip of the thumbscrew itself, offering a better grip and protecting the barrel from scratches. The barrel of the Celestron x-cel LX 2x Barlow is threaded to accept 1. 25" Filters, allowing you to change eyepieces without removing and re-attaching the filter from each eyepiece barrel.
Celestron 1.25" Moon Filter
The Moon has the distinction of being the most often viewed celestial object through backyard telescopes. It is undoubtedly beautiful and mysterious, and is one of those constants in our lives that connects us to every other being on our planet. Regardless of who we are or where we live or travel, we all look at the same moon. It is difficult to look at the Moon through a telescope and see all of the details due to its brightness. Our eyes are not ready for the bright beam of light that emits from the eyepiece, and they “stop down”, just as they would when you step out into the sunlight on a bright summer’s day. When we’re in the sunlight, we often wear sunglasses. They help us relax our eyes, protect us from glare, and help us see things more clearly. When amateur astronomers observe the Moon, we use a moon filter. A Celestron Moon Filter provides similar benefits to those of sunglasses...our eye relaxes and opens up to let us see more detail. This is especially important when observing the Moon when it is near full. The Celestron Moon Filter simply screws onto the insert barrel of most 1.25” eyepieces. It only takes a second or two to transform your regular eyepiece into one suited for lunar observations. A Moon Filter is also helpful when observing Venus or bright terrestrial scenes. This filter is not suitable for viewing the Sun.

My wife and I are new to astronomy and were looking to find a way to get a better image on our telescope. This fit bill very well, it magnified the image of Saturn so that we could see the ring better. I highly recommend this well built optic.

I was hoping this would give me great views of Jupiter and Saturn like shown in the photos of some other reviews. Sadly, it can't make up for poor seeing conditions and the lack of aperture on my telescopes, so I have yet to get view as good as those. None of that is the fault of this Barlow, however. The lens seems well-built and solid and worked with all of my eyepieces. I got mine for $80 which was a good deal. Looking at it now at $120 it may not be as good a deal anymore. 5 stars.

Only thing is it’s hard to find objects when you’re super zoomed in - but yeah probably better to get this than an eyepiece that is too powerful for your aperture. Recommend , but take the time to get used to finding objects before showing it off. Fit - Percect. Magnification- Excellent. Brightness - Great. Value - definitely

Use this between my Celestron 6” scope and their adjustable eyepiece. Works great when I need extra magnification!

Consigliatissima a 81€.

Opening) was suprised when I removed it , it was bigger than I imagined. (1st impressions) it appears first impressions was a factor when designing it . Looks good , feels nice . (Utilization) put it in , took a look and was satisfied but just barely. It was humid out so I figured the moist air diminished the quality of what I saw . Well tonight is super clear and went out to look up and thought to compare the stock 3×barlow. When I swapped for the new one I couldnt believe how the new barlow was that much better than the stock barlow. They are both 3×'s and I figured the knew it would look better but it appeared to be 2-3×'s higher magnification and exponentially higher clarity . Im not just satisfied im blown away as well , pisst off is also a good description for the simple fact that the stock barlow is an insult , so celestron if u read this throw that crap away and give a better barlow please

Very good quality 3-elements Barlow in affordable price. Witnessed impressive results when used with celestron zoom eyepiece 8mm to 24mm.

What I like the most is the quality of this Barlow. The views of the moon or Saturn and Jupiter are crisp and crystal clear. For the price, this is a steal.

This barlow is made of good, solid material with good optics, but while it triples your focal length, it also triples your focal ratio. A 650mm f/5 telescope becomes a 1950mm f/15 telescope. What once was a fast telescope, able to see faint objects, is now a slow telescope, struggling to see faint objects. I personally wouldn't go past a 2x barlow, but that's just me. Might still be good for planetary viewing, though.
