I bought this item brand new and never used it. Took it out and charged it to finally use it, and the item does not work. The led light works but that's it. I Attempted to contact the manufacturer and have heard nothing back as of yet.

When you have 7 Rottweilers or any powerful breed of dogs, on rare occasions a fight can break out if their daily social playing gets too out of hand and the dog becomes over stimulated. With this breed, that can end up in losing one or more dogs and it is never advised to break up a dog fight yourself without emergency tools. One very quick touch to the rear leg/butt of each dog involved in an accidental fight and it is instantly broken up and next thing you know they are inside cuddling with each other. This tool is priceless, if it were $600 I would still absolutely think it's a priceless tool that avoids injury to both dogs and humans and literally can save one or multiple dogs lives if you live with a pack of dogs. I do wish the LED light was brighter though, but that's a small issue.

I’m so happy I bought this. In the past my dogs have been attacked by loose dogs. In the 3 years I’ve owned this prod my dogs have not been hurt. So far only one loose dog continued aggressively charging while I was walking my dog and holding this out towards charging dogs. The dog that continued to charge into the prod immediately turned and headed home after hitting the prod. The light is great for walking at night and doesn’t wear down the battery like my old stun gun that had a light. I walk with this everyday for 3 years and have only charged it a handful of times. Best purchase ever! I highly recommend it. The only downside is I have arthritis and it’s a bit heavy for my weak wrist, but wearing a wrist band helps.

I have had some bad issues with other people's dogs when walking mine. Other big dogs have attacked mine while mine were on leash.I purchased the 33 inch prod as that seemed like a good compromise between reach and ease of carry. I discovered that it fit perfectly in the carrying bag that comes with folding camp chairs. So I just sling the bag over my shoulder and off we go. The prod can quickly be pulled from the carrying bag. It still looks a little crazy to onlookers but not as obvious as walking my dogs carrying a cattle prod.This item does have two switches and one activation button that would need to be managed in an attack. So I placed a small piece of duct tape in the 'on' position of the prod. I feel this will help me when the next attack happens. This way I won't be fumbling around figuring out how to turn this on.I received this in January and I fully charged it. I haven't had to charge it again. Every so often I turn on the flashlight to make sure it's still charged. I should probably consider charging it anyway as it may be getting low.This product does not shoot sparks when you activate it in the air. It has to actually be touching metal or flesh to spark. If it did spark in the air it may scare off attackers, but then it would also scare my dogs.Since getting this prod, we've had dogs run out on us but so far no attacks that required me to use this.

It holds a charge for a very long time, even with use everyday. Has plenty of zap to make anything move from it.

Had a bad dog fight. To many buttons. I could not get it to work . I got bitten. Used it as a club to fight off dogs!! Only lasted 1 hit and broke in two. It did stop the fight enough to get all 4 dogs apart. Get very familiar with all buttons so you can use it when shaken up. I am going to buy another one and get more familiarized with it.
