A neighbor’s pitbull was running loose in the street. I was walking my little dog. As soon as I saw him, I extended the cattle prod and caught him right side and boy. He did not like that so I carried every time I’m out walking Vinny.

I love this thing. Holds a charge for a long time. Folds down to fit in your back pocket until you need it. The flashlight is good and bright. Very durable. I dropped my the second day and didn't even scratch it which is good for me because I am hard on thing. Worth every penny.

Lasted about 5 months before it broke. You can hear something inside jingling loose and the power goes on and off. We have never used it to shock anything and it just gets carried on dog walks and placed back on the counter. So it's not like we were rough with it.

This cattle prod is very well made and sturdy. I like how it extends and is easy to use.

I got this to protect myself from any aggressive pigs that I may come across but I luckily have not had to use it on a pig that said I have used it in a rowdy bull that was getting too rough and the bulky handle made it hard to get a good grip while dealing with a rough situation. I think this is an OK prod for occasional use but the handle is not ergonomic to the point of it being an issue if you have your hands full with with something else . That said the battery seems to last a while and the prod does work but it also feels relatively cheap .I'll keep this updated to see how it does long term but as of now it works ok.

It looks like, from the comments, that I'm not the only one that got this as a deterrent for dogs. My son was in our back yard one night and the neighbor's pit bull had gotten out of their yard and came into ours. My son was blocked from getting into the house by this aggressive dog. He was yelling for help but unfortunately we couldn't hear him.Luckily the neighbor eventually did and was able to come and grab the dog. My son had a big flashlight in his hand and I think that kept the dog from coming after him because he shined it right in the dog's eyes. It's not the first time the dog got out. Another time the neighbors were in front of their house when the pit bull got out. Luckily they both were able to jump in their car before the dog bit them. It was going after their feet. So, since this isn't a rare occurrence I thought we needed something to have to deter the dog should it get out again, especially if the owners aren't home.We also have had a couple of roosters that get out of line. I think one zap will help determine Alpha status in the yard so they will quit going after us. I worry they will attack one of the little kids one of these days. I don't like to hurt animals. But if they keep doing it they won't live long so it's probably more compassionate to teach them with one zap and save their lives long term. The unit is plastic. To me that's probably a good thing so it won't rust. It has a way to hook it on clothes if needed. We'll possibly keep it back near the animals in case it's needed.Hopefully it won't be needed.
