From the Manufacturer

The Heatguard 110-D is a Temperature Actuated Mixing Valve that mixes hot water with cold to deliver tempered water at a controlled temperature to 120F maximum. The Heatguard 110-D is designed to assist in the prevention of scalding. The Heatguard 110-D is intended for installation at the water heater to distribute controlled temperature water through a domestic hot water system. The valve delivers water at a maximum of 120F, allowing the heater to be set at 140F or higher, thus providing a greater effective volume of hot water and decreasing the chances of Legionella growth in the water.

Replaced the old one exactly as per ASTM, and was able to reuse the old unions nuts (no soldering required). This kit included 3/4 NPT union adapters, but you don't need them if replacing, just the new neoprene gaskets for each union (which were in the kit).10 minute job to get our hot water working and we saved $400+ on a plumber.

Bought this because the recovery time of our heat pump hot water heater isn't the fastest. This allows us to set the water heater temp to 150 and have the water come out at a much safer 125. As a result it's like having a much bigger tank than we actually have.Unit was easy to install, and temperature adjustment is easy as well. Water output temp is consistent and always within a few degrees of the set point

The picture didn't match, it's not same and therefore didn't fit in same space. I could of gotten the one I received locally for a lot cheaper and faster.
