Works great. It fluffs areas of the carpet that tend to get matted down. I have occasionally used it as a dog brush as well :)

I should have paid more attention to the dimensions; I was sort of expecting this to be a little wider. With the narrow width (4.9") it is okay for a small area, but for a full room carpet will require a bit more work. I tried it out today and it appears to be well constructed and should hold up well. As for performance, I'm not all that impressed. I did a small area in my living room that is a little matted, but I don't really see a difference in the carpet's appearance. But for $10, I'll go ahead and keep it.

I thought the handle would be flimsy. NOPE! This is a great product! The teeth on it are even metal and do not wiggle at all! 100% worth the money!

It takes some arm power and elbow grease to get this thing to work on heavily matted carpet, but it does work! The quality of the handle/prongs is great, not cheaply made.Patience and working in small areas at a time are what helped me, but it definitely works to remove matting and hair from carpet.

I bought the Thomasville Plush rug from Costco 3 years ago, and it really flattened out when I moved it to a higher traffic area. I thought I would need to buy a new rug, but this did the trick! It won’t bring it back to New, but it’s so much more enjoyable and smooshie under my feet/doing yoga.A lot of shedding will occur, but it was that or a flag plush rug.You can see in the photos where I used the brush, and where I didn’t. And included pictures with my hands so you can see just how much fluffier it got vs. before I brushed it.

I have a shag 8x10 area rug that was only 7 months old but had matted down in the places you would expect ... where my feet sit when at my favorite sofa seat, the main traffic entrance from an adjoining room, etc. The rake definitely helped bring the mat out but it does take a certain technique ... short gentle strokes, tines 90 degrees from the carpet or even slightly angled. You can't dig in and be aggressive because the tines are fairly sharp and will extract yarns. Properly deployed, this tool work well for spot corrections.

This brush does a great job compared to other brushes, it really brought back to like my shag carpet, but you really have to be careful, it’s easy to damage the carpet and remove fibres! I found that it was more effective and sa lot afer to push the brush forward at an angle on the carpet than pulling it towards me at a straight angle. When used carefully, it does an incredible job and much faster and easier than other brushes.

Great for detailed and final brush strokes. I have a different purpose for it than originally intended. Doesn't work well for long haired rugs. Atleast your basic long hair padded area rugs via Amazon. This brush is built very well, tough, and rugged. I would recommend if you're looking for something that will hold up to abuse.

I like the fact that it it small for storage purposes. Tested it out on a matted area of my carpet and it really works well. Looking forward to giving my area carpet a much needed boost.

It is sturdy and I love that it has metal teeth instead of plastic like some other ones

I had a severely matted area rug that I loved so much, and was considering tossing in the trash until I bought this product. At first, the handle kept separating from the rake itself, but then I figured out that I had to hold both the rake and the handle together while raking the rug, and it worked just fine without separating. It worked wonders and restored the condition of my area rug! Now I get to keep it, and enjoy it for years to come! I’m buying another one - just because!

Might be good for pet grooming but no good for shaggy rugs.
