First, let me say, i wish i was on the free goods list. This unit is a bit smaller than the name brand units but the lights and alarm are just as bright if not brighter and the alarm is just as loud. The good thing is that the lights will keep the hallway a bit brighter at night and could act as a nite light too. The price is right too. This unit is strictly plug in with no battery backup, which is no big deal here in NYC. After a blackout, which is not too common here , the alarm would reset. It's a pain when a dead battery chirps at 2am. The one thing i wish is that the items be of a more current date. I really want to get 10 years out of these things.

I installed the unit approximately 12" from the floor, and I'm having trouble seeing the led digit. Lights are easily viewable. so used to the previous 6" detector, but should work fine.

The first CO monitor I received did not work at all (no power or readings) as it’s a simple plug in. But I received a replacement within a few days and the second one worked immediately. Nice display and test button to help ensure it’s working properly. And don’t have to worry about battery replacement. Good monitor, good value.
