I’m an adult player who can’t use the whole of a standard bow. I have some shoulder issues. I got this as I thought that the black bow hair and shorter length would be helpful. I found the length to be perfect for me, and the response okay, but the bow hair wasn’t right, even though it took rosin surprisingly quickly. The ‘grab’ characteristic wasn’t right for me-I couldn’t finesse the sound. But it’s a very low cost bow…I imagine this bow to be suitable for a child but not an experienced player like myself. I have a full size low priced Vingo carbon bow that is satisfactory, so maybe it’s just the black horsehair.

On having used my pro fiddler friend's cello bow on my own fiddle and liked the bigger sound, I bought this one for myself. I bought a 3/4 length to make it easier on my forearm and because I don't often get to the very end of the longer bow. The increased weight and wider hair of this cello bow immediately made a bigger, richer sound on my fiddle without having to bear down on it. I was in love with it as soon as I rosined it up and gave it a try. I got the black hair which seems to grab just fine once rosined and, frankly, looks cool. The packaging was sturdy, and the bow arrived in fine shape. It appears to be well made. Will update this review if any problems arise. Happy Fiddler!

So far this seems like a scam. The bow is smaller than a 1/2" bow @ 25" The bow I ordered was the 3/4" Which should measure out to 27" !! Im very dissapointed!

bought for my son for his cello. The one from school is heavy and his thumb keep slipping. This is light and the gap in front of the frog is just smaller enough to reduce his thumb slippage. The black hair looks sleek but the resin runs in white so now may have to search for darker rosin. The sound is much better than the school now. Also my son agrees the bow I noticeably lighter and allows him to play longer. And the packaging...they certainly take it seriously. It came in a pvc pipe as thick or maybe even thicker than the plumbing pipes under my kitchen sink. It is so thick I am going to chop it in half and use it as surf fishing rod holder for my beach outings.

Loved this bow until it broke at the tip less than 4 months after purchase.It seemed like one of the more reliable ones with better reviews, but unfortunately this was not the case.**EDIT: Although my original bow broke, I contacted the seller and they went out of their way to make it right and send a replacement bow. Good customer service from Vingobow.
