Man. Everyone is right. No matter how you try to calibrate it, it will point the direction behind you. Not where you are heading. That sounds weird until the center point you’re looking at shows you “SE” but you’re heading “NW”. If you know how it is off, you’ll be fine. It’s a travel compass. Not a land nav precision tool. Not bad for 7$.

There was no sticky tape in the box & it doesn't seem to work very well. It floats but seemed to be stuck between N & NE even though I was going E then NW & W.

If you are actually headed North the compass says you're going south. If you read the white numbers it is correct but the bold green letters are opposite from where you are headed. Also way to adjust for mental around the car. I'll return this.

I am use to viewing my "course" on a compass from behind it. This compass is made so that you have to look down on it from the top in order to see what direction you are going. I will have to just "reverse" whatever the reading on the compass is in order to know what direction I'm actually traveling. Works better as a "handheld" type compass rather than a "mounted" type.
