We previously had a HP printer that was having odd issues that no one seemed to be able to fix. So, we began researching new printers. What a daunting task! There are so many various kinds out there. After reading multiple articles and talking to some friends, I knew we wanted a tank one. You get so much more out of the ink that way. After that, we researched what all we were going to use it for and landed on this guy. While I hate to spend money, even when I need to, this was well worth it. We have had it up and running for about 1.5 months so far. Not a single paper jam, prints my cardstock just fine and scans effortlessly. I thought it had a special third paper area in the far back, but have not seen anything to that as of yet. It is fairly easy to setup and navigate. I was printing within an hour of opening the box. Their customer service people were helpful. My only real complaint is that it does not come with a physical manual. I get that everything is online now, but there is something to be said about having the manual to reference, especially with products such as this. As of now I am happy with the purchase.

I have wanted a printer with refillable tanks for years, but hadn't found one that had everything that I wanted Until now. I liked that it has a front cassette, which I use for Letter size paper and a rear try which will accept from A4, for photos, to Legal size. We sometimes like to print picture take with our phone or digital cameras and it is handy to have the photo paper loaded. When necessary, I find it easy to remove the photo paper from the rear tray and loading legal size paper. When i am through, it is easy to reverse the process. There is a rear flat tray for a single sheet of paperboard. I haven't tried that yet. I was impressed with the touchscreen. It is larger and easier to read than any printer I have used before. Using Canon's Print app on my computer, I found it pretty easy to set up. I thought that filling the tanks was very easy. I like the windows for the ink tanks on the front to see the remaining ink levels.

I have a small office that relies on fail-safe printing, scanning, and copying. For years I have chucked out HP, Epson, and other printers because they were unreliable, frequently had software issues, and hardware failures. I took great pleasure in taking them to the dumps and throwing them into the detritus. This Canon is the exception. I have had it for about nine months, and it performs wonderfully. I recently had to print out a complex project involving 2,000+ pages. There were no printer errors, and the final product was outstanding. A couple of times the printer notified me that it needed ink. The process for filling the tanks was easy and straightforward. Scanning was sometimes interrupted because the documents being scanned were irregular or bent. It was easy to clear the documents and re-scan. My only complaint is that the instruction window is a bit small, but it’s a vast improvement over previous models. The cost to keep this machine in ink is low, and the printer is frugal in its ink usage. My experience with this printer has been refreshingly positive. I rarely give product reviews, but my experience with this printerhas been outstanding.

I've had a number of home office printers over the 30-some years and this is the only real disappointment. This printer replaced a laser-jet. My husband wanted a tank model printer to reduce our personal cost of doing all printing for a small church for which I'm the volunteer administrator. I chose this Canon because the ink is color-fast on fabric for an occasional quilt label. This printer must be turned on manually every time I send a document to it. This might be OK if I had it next to a Desk top in a home office, but I work from a laptop in a different room. The printer boot-up seems to take forever and the print speed is significantly slower than any printer I've previously owned. It is now exactly one year in use and has developed serious issues. Large documents (10-plus pages) are printed with totally blank pages. Small documents are printed with the left side of pages blank. It is also printing multiple copies of documents when only one or two copies are sent to be printed.Husband wanted me to order an ink tank printer to save money. It has turned into a very expensive purchase given all the frustration and wasted time and the amount of paper discarded due to beeing mis-printed.I can not recommend this printer.

I love this printer! I never write reviews, but I made an exception for this Canon Maxify GX4020 printer. I print hundreds of copies for my work with preschool children and to illustrate the songs I teach to Primary children. This printer prints beautiful pages on multiple types of paper; super quickly and high quality. Set up was easy and any glitches with wireless printing or finding any unusual settings were quickly solved. The touch screen is small but works very well. Canon updates the software often and when I experienced a printing "error" message, I clicked on the link which took me to the online owners manual solving the problem easily! Filling the ink tanks was easy and is definitely more economical than replacing ink cartridges. The rear tray and output paper tray are sturdy. It also has scanner and fax capabilities! this is a wonderful all-in-one machine!
