Globe fits, they are durable under normal use unless you know it off a counter. Recommend this product. Have purchased same in the past.

The listing said the globe has a 4.16 inches diameter, and 4.4 inches height. Using digital calipers, The actual globe matched these dimensions exactly; converted to inches, this globe is slightly over 4 1/8" diameter and 4 3/8" height, and has a slight rim, which should enhance its strength. The Coleman 214A0461 globe in Coleman 285 lantern is 4 3/16" x 4 1/2". Thus, this globe's diameters match those stated, though its actual height is abpit 1/8 inch less than the Coleman globe in the model 285. That 285 globe would have fit better if it were 4 1/4 inches wide; and this globe wiggles a little due to its somewhat smaller size. The propane mantles included are smaller than those sold by Coleman for the liquid fuel models 285 and 288. I suspect this globe and the mantles would be a closer fit to the Coleman propane lanterns. Overall, this is a well made globe, and I'm giving it 5 stars because of its actual dimensions were consistent with its listing and because I suspect it and the mantles would be a good fit for Coleman propane lanterns.

The globe fit perfectly on my Coleman lantern. I can't really tell much of a difference between it and the one I replaced as far as the quality of the glass (besides the old one being cracked). This is a good deal and about half the price of what you see Coleman replacements in the store.

I got this as a replacement glove for my 90s vintage Coleman 288 gasoline lantern that I have converted to run on kerosene (this would also be suitable for the Coleman 214 and some others.)First of all let me say the packaging is the best I have ever seen for a globe. Every collector I know would love to have the hex cell sleeve available for storing and shipping their rare globes.The globe does fit my 288 but is slightly small in diameter - about a 1/4" small on the diameter in total. While it fits this puts the glass a little closer to the hot mantles but probably not enough to make a difference.The glass is crystal clear with no defects and the ends are very well smoothed with no sharp edges. I'll run this for awhile on my kerosene lantern as that is a torture test as kero burns hotter than gas.Excellent packaging, good quality but one star off for not matching Coleman dimensions.

I have a few Coleman lanterns and the storage for one of them is a soft sided case. During one of my recent camping trips I opened the bag only to realize that the glass had cracked.I got this as a replacement for the cracked glass. It is exactly the same size as the Coleman glass globe and so it is a perfect fit. I have not used it at camp yet, so I do not yet know how it would hold up to the heat. I'll report back if any issues.Good idea to get one of these as a backup just in case. I was concerned about it getting broken during shipping and delivery, but it was well packaged in corrugated paper.

What I like:I am delighted with this quality glass replacement globe, as it's a perfect fit for my vintage Coleman lantern, so now I can breath new life into this classic lantern!The manufacture of the glass globe was apparently performed under the highest of standards, as the product features smooth edges and has no defects or imperfections, whatsoever.What I don't like:There's nothing I don't like about the product.I would surely order this item again.
