We adopted a miniature poodle from a rescue. He was kept in a cage and otherwise abused in his previous home and has some anxiety "behaviors". This made many people "anxious" about adopting him but I decided to give it a shot. If he gets anxious or excited he chases his tail, growling and barking and biting at it. (He does not growl or bark at humans or our other pets.) The smallest things can set him off. He also has some other behaviors, such as pacing, that are anxiety related. But he is smart and loving and deserves to be content and happy. We have worked with him to reduce anxiety, he's had a through vet check, was neutered, and the amount of times he was set off were reduced but he still had some days when he was tail chasing every 15 minutes or so in the late evening-night period. It started affecting our sleep. I saw an ad for calming collars and while skeptical, didn't think it would hurt to try it.I was pleasantly surprised that the very first evening after putting on the collar we had much fewer episodes. As days passed the episodes have been greatly reduced to maybe one or two a day. The collars have a strong but not unpleasant smell and that fades or you get used to it. The smells are from herbal essential oils known for calming properties and the dog can also smell pheromones that are on the collar. ( You can't). If you are allergic to any essential oils check the label and use caution.I thought maybe it was just from coincidence and our training efforts working that the anxiety behaviors were clearing up ( and I am sure they also help) but at about 20 days of wearing the collar his tail chasing started to become more frequent again. A new collar reduced the episodes immediately. They do not last 30 days as stated, at least for us, but that's okAs noted, our dogs behavior still continued but the frequency of problems has been greatly reduced. It may be just me, but I think our dog feels happier now too. We have had him about 4 months now and are hoping that eventually training, love and lots of exercise plus the collars will resolve his problems. These collars may not help all dogs but they are inexpensive enough you could give it a try. I was skeptical at first, but I think it worked for our dog.

I really liked this product; it kept both of my dogs calm during 4th of July. One of my dogs usually trembles very badly and pants and paces and tried to hide when fireworks are going off but I started the collar about 5 days before and he had none of that anxiety even during the worst noise. I am happy I found this and I will use again next year. It's also great that the package has 4 collars so I feel it was very fairly priced; with my two medium size dogs I have two for next July 4th. I am amazed at how well it works, and it is all natural; no poison for my dogs. The first day I had the collars on the herby smell is quite strong but it toned down by the next day; and it isn't an unpleasant smell. The collars fit well; easy to put on and adjust. Very grateful these helped my dogs stay calm during July 4th!

My 7 year old Springer Spaniel suddenly started attacking our 9 month old Golden Retriever puppy randomly and completely unprovoked. These weren’t just puppy corrections either, our springer was viciously attacking the puppy and wouldn’t stop without physical intervention from us or the highest electric shock from his e collar. Our poor golden was terrified of our older dog, couldn’t even look at him or go near him and our fear was our springer’s random attacks would make our sweet affectionate puppy reactive toward him and other dogs. One attack the puppy ran to my 12 year old daughter for protection from our Springer and she ended up in the middle of the scuffle and got bit by our springer, thankfully not bad but this was very concerning considering I have younger smaller children in the household, as much as I love my dogs my kids safety will always come first. Our springer was completely healthy so there was no reason for the attacks, other than some reactivity and anxiety. Our springer has always been anxious, especially bad separation anxiety, he would lick his legs and paws raw when he was alone, which is why we got the puppy in the first place, just so he’d always have a companion and never be alone. When the attacks started we had to separate the dogs completely but that seemed to exasperate the problem with the Springer, he got jealous and anxious when separated from the golden. When these attacks started happening daily and getting much worse our springer also started growling at myself and my kids when we put him in his kennel, which he had never done before and I was losing trust in my dog, I could tell he was losing trust in us too. I feared we either needed to re-home one dog or put our senior dog down, I’ve had spaniels in the past and they have had a tendency to get meaner and less predictable more prone to attacking other dogs and ppl with age. But he is by far the best trained dog we’ve ever owned, so the thought of putting him down was heartbreaking. Then I started reading about all our options and considering medications (which always have side effects and risks unfortunately) and I stumbled across articles suggesting calming collars. I had never heard of them, they sounded too good to be true but we were desperate, and I was willing to try anything to save my dog. When I pulled out the collar and put it on my dog, his entire body completely relaxed and he let out an audible sigh of relief. He is a very athletic and muscular dog, but is always very tense and on edge and he immediately relaxed and laid down. The collar instantly took the edge off, it didn’t entirely fix the problem but we were able to have him and the puppy together again within a few days. With the calming collar, an e-collar system for both dogs and a lot of research and behavioral retraining of both the puppy and senior dog I watch the dogs together and watched for unhappy cues from the springer like tension, lip licking and stiffness and all his body language and learned to correct both dogs before any problem started. This calming collar helped calm my springer down enough so I could confidently work with him without fearing for my other dog’s safety. With good behavioral training and positive reinforcement, the e collar as an absolute last resort, my springer and I have regained trust in each other, my dogs love each other again. I’m so grateful for these calming collars, our relationship has never been better! The first collar lasted a little more that 60 days, I just put his second collar on today he had the first one on for 70 days. This morning he started getting after the golden a little more so we pulled out the second collar and he calmed right down again just like he did the first time.We did try a calming collar on our Golden Retriever puppy but I really saw no difference in him, he’s still a typical obnoxious puppy in the awful teenage phase. I won’t be putting another collar on him unless I feel like he could absolutely use it.The only side effect I noticed in the Springer Spaniel is his appetite, he’s never been a food driven dog, littering only eats when he’s super hungry but with this collar he definitely finishes his food immediately and will eat as much as he can get access too, so keep an eye on that if your dog is a foodie. The smell is strong, especially the first few days, our dog smelled like soap but it’s not a bad overbearing smell.I highly recommend these collars to anyone who has an anxious or reactive dog and to take behavioral retraining seriously and I hope others see the improvement we’ve seen. This collar saved our senior dog and our sanity!

Got a new dog over the summer that was very anxious. Normally when going outside, he would get very skittish for every little sound, or any movement. Decided to get these, and give them a try. Definitely worth the money. As soon as I put the first one on, I noticed an immediate change. He calmed down a lot when going outside, and it even helped him out inside. He doesn’t seem to be uncomfortable with it on, and it fits very well with his existing collar. One size seems to be great for all sizes of dogs, because of how the collar is designed. If there’s any slack if your dog is smaller, like mine is, it’s very easy to trim down. Didn’t have any issues with it loosening up at all.One added benefit is that they smell incredible!
