Digital fishing scales are a nice addition to any tackle box, but they're typically large and take up a lot of room. This digital scale is about the size of the older spring scale/tape measure combos - very small, and able to fit into most tackle trays. The scale is simple to use, the display is bright, and the weight measurement appears to be accurate, (admittedly, my testing and comparison with other scales is limited). Notably, the price is also very reasonable, (inexpensive, in fact). I have not used the scale long enough to comment on the battery life, but the ability to re-charge with a USB port is a nice feature. Overall, a great first impression.

I didn't need the more expensive model, this one worked. Only thing that would make it better would be if it floated.

Scale and clamp were smaller than I expected. Pretty good quality set unless you are using them for large fish. Also the scale can be a little tricky when cycling through settings and historical data.

This does an absolutely amazing job measuring the weight of my fish. I love that it's chargeable, making going on fishing trips with a fully charged device easy and not needing to worry about extra batteries. The clamp tool has a built-in measuring tape, which is the smartest design I have ever seen and is beyond useful. Definitely a great kit to have on fishing trips.

Initial reaction: Extremely small. Easily fits in the palm of my hand. (I wear size Large gloves for reference.) Charging was a breeze, but be careful, the cover over the charging port is not connected to the scale, or at least isn't on mine. Also be deliberate when placing the cover back onto the charge port and make sure it seals well. My first few test appears that it might be weighing items a bit on the heavy side (by about 2 ounces.) But that could just be a user error. Also, since the unit is so small, the handle (holding area) is really only big enough for maybe two fingers. So if you have a heavier catch, it will be difficult to use.Overall I am happy with this and I am looking forward to weighing some fish on it.

WOW, this thing is smaller than I was expecting, but seems pretty rugged and easy to handle. I like it, it will fit in my tackle box or pocket easily. I actually had to read the instructions for setting to how I wanted it, but really pretty simple. It comes with the cord for charging, no batteries to worry about. Although expect to lose the tiny rubber charging connection cover as it is not tethered to the scale itself, but I don't think that would be any major problem, I'm just one of those guys.

This scale is small and easy to carry. It looks nicer than my old one, has a handle that is easier to hold, and doesn't require batteries, which I like. One advantage of this scale over other rechargeable devices is that the charging port is well covered and not loose, so moisture can't easily get in when in humid conditions (like fishing).

I insist on having a scale available when I go fishing, both saltwater and fresh. I find digital scales tend to do a better job in the long run than old school spring scales mostly due to corrosion issues. Nevertheless, many of my digital scales require me to remove the alkaline batteries during the off season for fear of the batteries decomposing and corroding the leads. I ordered this Calamus Li-ion rechargeable scale to address that issue as well as the size of my last alkaline battery scale. As you can see in the photo, my old scale is at least twice as large as the Calamus. I weighed a partially full bag of lead shot and got a true reading (19#) with no problem. Once the weight is properly detected, the weight is locked. Nice! It is easy to scroll through the units, however, I really can’t see needing anything except pounds in my fishing application. Having said all that nice stuff, here are a few negatives as I see them. There is a memory storage mode that I only see as an impediment to my goal (i.e. weighing my dang fish). Now I need to make sure I’m in the proper weighing mode before measuring the weight of the fish I just caught. I don’t want to accidently use “E” and get a sum of multiple fish nor do I want to accidently use “A” and get an average of two or more fish. Unnecessary annoying “bells and whistles” in my opinion. Calamus should make a simplified version of this scale that just weighs one fish at a time and skips the extras. My other complaint is that the USB charging port cover is not attached to the scale (see photo). Even though I don’t imagine recharging will be a frequent occurrence, that little cover will always be at risk of being lost while recharging. To close on a good point, I should mention the excellent price point of $10 (I got the scale only). But for the annoying “bells and whistles” this would be a five star product!
