This is a compact and light weigh scale. I've only used it a couple of times but it seems to be accurate enough.

My usage is weighing cats. I had very similar earlier model from Berkley for some years that worked really well until I dropped it 30" onto a hardwood floor. The display went wonky making the unit unusable. That unit did not automatically lock into the weight, but it was easy enough to watch it and figure out the weight with a moving cat in the carrier under it. After a few seconds the cat would move less and the correct weight was obvious even though the last digit could move up or down occasionally in those seconds.I bought this new model intending to not drop it. But, this new model automatically locks into the measured weight. And it does so too quickly. I could get different weights depending on how much the cat was moving as I pushed the handle up against the top of a door frame to stabilize it. Usually the unit locked in before I even got the handle up against the door frame meaning that it was analyzing a moving target. This probably explains most of the variations in weight I was seeing.I sent the unit back and got this unit. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088WFZ4M5?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1 It is much slower to lock in, giving me 5 seconds or more to get the handle against a solid surface (top of door frame). As such the cat has usually settled down before the weight locks in. And the weight is always the same if I repeat the process because the handle is stabilized when weighing occurs rather than being accelerated upward increasing the weight.

Great scale. It will be used when SCUBA diving fishing and to assure weight when catch is sold.

Light weight, long battery life, keeps several fish weights stored, pretty accurate.

I had the original one of these for a long time probably 20 years. I decided it was time for a new one. This one fits the bill and seems very accurate. Pair it with a fish grip and it is a great setup top weigh a big bass.

Over all so far I'm impressed with the scale and can't complain. I have included several photos and will try to explain what I was trying to show you.The battery compartment on the back of the scale is very easy to open with a coin, I used a quarter but don't see any coin not doing the job. I have no idea what the water resistance is supposed to be but was happy to see a quality O-ring built into the battery compartment door and since the door closed with what felt like a tight seal I'm optimistic that "when" I dump over in my kayak maybe it will survive (fingers crossed and I'll update as I gain more experience with this happening)Attached to the hook is a soft white almost clear nub. I can only assume it's to help store the hook and it happens to fit perfectly in either of the screw holes on the back of the scale (see photo) there was no mention of this in the instructions (that I only scanned and did not read with a fine tooth comb) but this is what I did. Speaking of instructions the parts I did read over gave good detail on how to zero it out and store previous weights measured and how to use the simple two buttons on the front.Accuracy: I used some lead fishing weights that I ordered in the same Amazon shipment to test the accuracy. It is 16 one ounce weights. The scale showed it to weight 15 ounces..... so either the scale is off by one ounce per pound or it's possible the weights are off by an average of 1/16 of an ounce per weight. At this time I don't know which one is the issue and won't reduce my rating until I can confirm and will give the scale the benefit of the doubt for the time being. I might do some more experiments with other items and will report back in a couple weeks.I'm never going to catch a world record fish and won't be using this to certify any fish. I'll be using it when my kids want to know how much their bluegill or catfish weighs and to have bragging rights over their siblings. If the accuracy turns out to be off after more testing I'm ok with that but my rating will be changed to correct my findings.Over all it gets my recommendation so farDisclaimer: I payed full price and never get discounted or free stuff! Amazon you have my address on file if you want to change that...Edit to add photos again. Amazon, What's the point if your not going to include them the first time I post a review?

Gave them a 5 star rating as there a great set of compact, well built and accurate set of scales at a reasonable price, although the the automatic hold function is great it can also be a little frustrating at times, when the scales have been zeroed they sometimes hold at a low weight before I've had chance to weigh the fish but a quick push of the power/zero button resets them to zero. I see no reason to to mark them down for something simple. I would recommend these scales to any fisherman/woman tight lines.

Although I use this scale for weighing fish, I primarily have been using it for setting strike drag on my Avet reels. It's still a two man operation, but at least I know that my drags will be set properly.I tested this scale with a variety of weights to verify it's accuracy and it was spot on right out of the packaging. I wasn't so sure that it would handle lighter weights (not sure why I thought that to begin with), but it worked just fine. I'll be using it next year for trout season too.The scale itself is ergonomic and perfect for weighing things on the heavier end of the spectrum. I have been very pleased with the build quality and performance. I wasn't expecting a nice piece of equipment at such a good price.
