We've got a few of these in our house now. It's really great if you know what you want. It's too expensive to run these things if you want them to be a primary source of heat. Bad idea. But they are a great way to fit a little extra heating in a space like a bathroom or bedroom. I personally attach them behind a timer light switch (one of the ones that lets you select 5, 10, 20, or 30 minute blocks). It's pretty easy to install if you are handy and I've not had problems with them. One warning, they smell TERRIBLE when you first start running them. Give them a day or two to air out.

Just had this unit installed in the bathroom in my cabin. The room was like a morgue. However, when I crank up this heater it is warm and toasty in literally seconds. However, it is not a do-it-yourself and/or handyman install. Per code it requires a dedicated circuit from the main panel. Furthermore, the backbox does not include proper insulation from heat. Hence heat proof insulation should be mounted in the wall before the backbox goes in. It took two electricians 5 hours to get this done right. I paid $625 for the install. Am I pleased? YES. But in an old 1937 log cabin the install is a challenge. Bottom line? It works GREAT, I love it. But don't kid yourself about the install if you're not a licensed electrical contractor.

Had this installed the other day and the unit works just fine! For a while I was using a space heater in my downstairs half bathroom and this wall heater really does the job very nicely.

Installed this in my garage office. Now I can use the office all year round. Keeps garage space nice warm and toasty. It's compact but pack a big heat punch. Highly recommended. Very quite.

Easy to install, works on a 110V 15A circuit for easy wiring. The only issues I have are both related to the thermostat. There is no "off" setting so I'm concerned that this will come on if the room gets too cold. Probably good for a room with plumbing but not great for a shed, garage, or other room where it's OK if the room goes below freezing. Also, the thermostat's highest setting seems to top out around 78 - 79. I'm sure this is fine for most people.

In the last 15 years I have bought and installed many of these Cadet Com-Pak heaters, about 50 all told. For rental properties, as well as fixers that I have rehabbed and sold. Never had an issue. I bought 3 for my latest project, but it was about 4 months from date of purchase before the property was sold and they put into use (they all test fine upon installation). 2 of the 3 shut off and would not restart. Called Glen-Dimplex USA and spoke with their very nice and helpful rep. She requested documentation of purchase, and pictures of the defective unit with the grill off. The next day I sent the documentation. The next day I called again to confirm their rec't of docs. The next day (!!!) they shipped the replacement units. 3 days later, I have them in hand. Top notch customer support! Thank you Glen-Dimplex USA!

It worked good for a few months after purchase and then fan seized. It’s not even a year old yet
