IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH XBOX!!DONT WASTE YOUR TIUME AND MONEY LIKE I DID AND JUST BY THE XBOX SUPPORTED EXPANSION CARD.THIS ONE DOES NOT WORK.I purchased this card in hopes of saving about 50 dollars.Xbox stats online just like their headsets only Xbox official accessories properly work on their systems.I wish I had read that before wasting my money on this thing. I bought the expansion card, and tried to use multiple extra drives with it, made sure the formatting was correct and the Xbox simply does not accept this hardware.Xbox just wants you to spend an inflated amount on their crap.

Don’t buy for Xbox, it won’t recognize it, Xbox series s, also does t come with ssd card and extremely hard to find don’t waste your money

I dislike that the aluminum I got snapped easily when I was putting it in my xbox for a test to see if it would work other than that it's a cheaper version of the Seagate expansion card do not buy

As of 03/28/2023 this CF Express adapter still works like a charm on Xbox Series S and Series X machines. The important things to remember when using this as an external storage expansion for Xbox Series S and Series X is that the NVMe drive used MUST be a WD CH SN530 SSD (NOT the WD PC SN530 SSD); because of overprovisioning, the total space available on the WD CH SN530 SSD is 876GB (not 931GB as would be available with a standard 1TB drive). I followed the instructions exactly as a previous reviewer (Tinman) advised and the CF Express adapter/WD CH SN530 worked like a charm. The steps (as originally provided by Tinman) are as follows:1) Format the SSD under Win10 to the GPT format2) Mount the SSD to the adapter3) Plugged into the Xbox expansion slot4) Xbox will say the expansion storage is not valid, this is OK5) Unmount the SSD from the adapter and mount to a NVME-to-USB adapter6) Plugged it into the Xbox USB plug7) Xbox should say a new USB storage is detected8) Format it9) Unmount the SSD from NVME-to-USB adapter and mount to adapter10) Plugged it into the expansion slot11) Xbox should now detect it successfully.I've seen some reviews stating that a firmware update made these CF Express adapters no longer be recognized the Xbox Series S/X; that's incorrect as used this to create expansion storage on 03/25/2023 and it works like a charm. The main issue with other peoples problems getting the expansion to be recognized is that they may be using a WD PC SN530 drive instead of the WD CH SN530 drive. I've been extremely happy with the performance of the storage and works exactly the same as my 2TB Seagate Expansion card.

Habe diesen Adapter gekauft weil ich gehofft habe so den Speicher meine Xbox Series S günstig zu erweitern, da ich noch die 512GB m.2 SSD aus meinem Steamdeck hatte von dem 1TB upgrade.Der einbau ging schnell und einfach und die SSD hat physikalisch problemlos gepasst.dann beim einstecken in die Xbox kam die Ernüchterung: Fehlermeldung: "Diese Karte kann nicht benutzt werden"Habe darauf hin im Internet nach der Fehlermeldung gegoogelt und herausgefunden dass es anscheinend NUR mit einer "WD CH SN530" funktioniert welche anscheinend auch in den offiziellen Karten von Seagate steckt.Auf Ebay bekommt man diese SSDs größtenteils nur aus Fernost und dann ist man zusammen mit den Versandkosten dann auch fast beim selben Preis der offiziellen Seagate SSDs.Also lohnt sich nicht!! Wartet lieber bis die offiziellen Karten im Preis heruntergehen weil WD nun auch welche vorgestellt hat die günstiger sein sollen!

Just got this in the mail, so I can't talk about longevity, but the product is made from CNC aluminum, so it is going to be strong and reliably cut. The quality is actually very high, it slid into my Series X without any issues. I don't know how great it lines up on the existing pins, but I didn't notice anything weird about the way it went in, it was snug.It comes with a mini phillips screw driver and two thermal pads of some kind. They don't seem to have adhesive but they have a little stick to them, some kind of rubber. The quality of this specific part itself I feel is very good.As for what it does, yes it does work, however I see people trying to use the wrong hard drive. This requires the CH SN530, NOT the PC SN530. The drives are different and based on what I've been told, the Xbox refuses to acknowledge it. I purchased two CH SN530's off ebay, 512 GB cards and they work fine. I tried one with MBR partition using Disk Genius and the other I made GPT with diskpart, then made a normal NTFS partition using Windows Disk Management tool. Used 4096 sector size both times and both drives work.At first, the drives weren't recognized, but neither was my USB drive, so I don't know if the Xbox OS had a glitch so I rebooted the drives and then it would prompt me to format them. took less than 10 seconds for the prompt to appear. So GPT, MBR, doesn't matter. Just delete the partitions, and make a new GPT or MBR NTFS partition with 4096 sector size and you should be good to go. Ordering a second case now so I can put the second drive in my Series S.

There are some that are floating around that uses the 512 sector, don't know if it will work.The kit came with a thin (probably 0.5mm) thermal pad and a slightly thicker (probably 1mm) thermal pad. The thin pad was for the bottom layer of the SSD, without any component. The thicker one was used on the top lay where the NAND flash and controller are mounted.The SSD was first confirm in a working condition by connecting it to a Win10 system. The SSD is then initialized to the GPT layout. The MBR layout was not attempted as it is consider an older format under windows.To get it working, the SDD is plugged into the USB 3 port of the Xbox with a USB-to-NVME adapter. Once the Xbox detected it, a format was initialized. After the format, the SDD is mounted onto the kit and then plugged into the expansion port. It was detected without any issue.To confirm the SSD was working, a Series X game is installed onto it and was play for over 1 hour. The kit was warmed to the touch, which implies the thermal pads are transferring the heat metal plates.
