Works great for my GMC with the new split type tailgate. Has plenty of clearance if you remember to turn the hitch around after use. It’s spendy but I’m sure it costs less than a new tailgate!There seems to be a lot of adjustment vertically for different trailer hitches too. I lie that it’s always there when I need it.

I have the 2025 Sierra EV and the hitch works because the tailgate won’t hit the hitch but it’s not good, the hitch can’t go all the way into the second hole as the manual says to do which means the anti rattle grub screw now doesn’t work, you also can’t use a silent hitch pin because the main shank of the hitch is solid so no way to stop the rattle, also the hitch can only go in by flexing the bodywork of my truck, so yes, It works but not as designed.

Ok so I did a lot of research because there are so many models offered that I wanted to be sure to get the right one for me. I have a 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 w/MultiPro tailgate. I arrived home late at night to find that my package had arrived. I was too excited to wait until daylight to put it on the truck. The quality is extremely impressive. I put it on and in the extreme darkness of night had thought I had it in all the way. Was bummed to find out that my tailgate hit it. Gave it some time to think it over and then figured out that this receive actually is hollowed out on the back side and is meant to push all the way in so that it recesses into it. Then it worked exactly as expected. I felt like a fool. Don’t be like me. Be sure to shove it all the way to where it can’t go in any more. Very happy with my purchase!

The locking installing pin should be offered when purchasing the hitch. I had to order that separately.

Previous to finding this solution, I was using a high quality (cost almost the same as this B&H) receiver on my truck, and obviously it prevented me from using the mutli-gate on the truck as it would damage the tailgate. As I saw someone else write that it is much less expensive to get this special receiver for the multi-gate than to have to repair the tailgate because it hit the receiver or ball, I ordered the B&H that is made for the Chevy/GMC Pickup trucks with the special tailgate. Upon receiving the B&H MultiPro and removing the one I had with the B&H, not only does it work perfectly with the multi-gate tailgate on the truck, but the fit and finish is exceptional and so much better on the B&H than any other receiver I've owned. Highly recommend getting a B&H Receiver for your trailering needs.

I bought this hitch so that I could leave it on my truck and still use my multi-pro tailgate. It fits great and tucks out of the way of my gate. Heavy duty and well made.

First of all this hitch does exactly what BW advertised, on my 2022 GMC 2500HD Denali. I bought the 2.5 receiver shank w/ the 2”&2 5/8”ball. Fit is perfect just enough movement to prevent getting stuck in receiver, with the 2” ball at the highest level the gate clears by 1/2”, with the 2 5/8” ball at the highest level the hitch clears while coming down but the black plastic of the hitch (that very top part of the tailgate) just touches not a concern,. In the stowed position tailgate clears no problem. True you cannot remove the ball, or the bracket that the ball goes into if the hitch is in the receiver but with the supplied pins with clips, just be warned that these pins and clips can be stolen which would make your hitch unusable. So I Purchased a set of locking pins. Also keep in mind that the pins need to have a clear span of 4” as this is the width of the bracket they need to go thru and lock, need a total of 4 locking pins one for the receiver and three for the ball bracket assembly. But ya this is the hitch you want for your truck with a multi pro tailgate .

I pull a lot of trailers and already had the standard B & W two ball hitch. I was very pleased with how easy it worked and the quality of that hitch.I recently purchased a 2024 GMC 2500 pickup with the multipro tailgate. Not sure what bonehead engineers designed this tailgate but they obviously never pull trailers! If you opened the step portion of the multipro it would land on your hitch if it was in the receiver.I, like most people who pull trailers frequently, do not remove the hitch after each use.Was glad to run across this slanted style B & W. Now I can use the tailgate and step without fear of denting it. Guarantee this hitch is cheaper than what a body shop would charge to repair the dented tailgate.Con - I wished they made this with a smaller drop, as the 6" hangs pretty low and may hang up if we ever get in the wrong spot.

As advertised. It's heavy and allows the tailgate to drop. Haven't towed with it yet but will be all weekend. Seems like a nice tight fit and doesn't wiggle and have a bunch of slop like some others. 5 stars for being what it's supposed to be but for the price it should come with locking pins in my opinion.
